2022 OT Connor James set to commit on Thursday
Jones is a 6'7 285lb OT from Monument, CO. Currently rated #78 OT and #774 player nationally. He took a 3 campus visit last weekend to Michigan, Indiana, and NW and signs are pointing to Michigan with Lorenz and Marich both putting crystal balls for the good guys.

tall OT prospects - Hayes seems to have worked out - get one in every class
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:11 PM ^
Isn't it a little early to say Hayes has worked out?
December 22nd, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
No, except for the obvious “injury” caveat, but you can say that about anyone.
He was ranked #335 in the composite. Not every player is going to be an All-American. He’s already a multi-year starter on the line and was good enough to keep Mayfield at RT. Hopefully he heals up and gives us 2 All-Big 10 seasons or gets drafted after next year.

Wow, I'm not sure how his last name became James in the title. It's Connor Jones. Mods please fix
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:31 PM ^
Thank you for the advance notice, this way the NO! GOD! NO! THREE STAR! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE types will be all ready to go.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:33 PM ^
Well that was cool!
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:36 PM ^
Why is Connor Jones tweeting about Connor James?
Why?

Great to see we have a bunch of 3 stars in the 2022 class. Harbaugh hasnt learned his lesson that 3 stars lead to 2-4 seasons.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:52 PM ^
Would you shut the fuck up? You are consistently one of the worst posters on the board.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:57 PM ^
When we get a new coach, I will stop criticizing them. We have been told for six years that every recruit is awesome regardless of what coaches at other schools think and the recruiting sites think and they have been dead wrong most times. That's why we have such an awful football program in year 6.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:09 PM ^
I think it's wise to be more forgiving when it's a guy that the coaches prioritize early. Going after a 3* now vs in a year when you are scrambling after missing on all your top targets is different.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:21 PM ^
OH YEAH!!??
Screw you with your level-headedness and common sense!!11!!!1111!!!!
(Plus I'd bet that rankings will change a LOT once the 22's can get camp or seasonal Evals next year.)
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:44 PM ^
Especially with OL. How many OL in the past few cycles have we been in on early that have moved up significantly in the rankings? Hayes, Mayfield, Trente Jones, Barnhart, Persi, El Hadi, Anderson, and Bounds?
December 22nd, 2020 at 11:49 PM ^
Just watched this guy's film on HUDL. He is legitimately good. Obvious caution for competition level, but I wouldn't be surprised if he works out.
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:13 PM ^
Need more 6’7” 285 lbs. high school juniors to go blue. Warriner is a great coach
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:55 PM ^
You can't teach size. Will he come in and a be starter right away? Probably not. Will he be a contributor his first 2 seasons on campus? Probably not. Will he be a starter in 3 years and a contributor on the line? I think so. Sometimes you need to look at the big picture and realize he may be a project. If it works out you will have a solid player and contributor down the road.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:03 PM ^
Yup pretty much. Plus we're not looking for an instant starter at OT. For once we have depth there and can afford to let players develop into starters. Also OL is notoriously difficult to project. That being said, not all 3 stars OL are equal and I'm gonna leave it to someone with more of an eye to see if he is displaying the tools to be a successful player down the road. Warinner's earned that trust with his recruitment and development of players so far.
Also, this is SUPER early in the 2022 cycle. Players move up and down the rankings or Michigan parts ways with prospects that don't continue to develop in their senior season. So it's way too early to complain about anything.
December 22nd, 2020 at 11:50 PM ^
I've watched the film of every OL prospect weve signed in the last 15 years. This guy is in the top 50% at least. Happy we might get him.

Clemson built their dynasty off 3 stars. It not what goes in, its what comes out. Coaching, coaching, coaching. (player development, player develompment, player development).

boyd to watson to lawrence had a little something to do with it
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:12 PM ^
And an amazing MSU like "nutrition" program.
Juice em' up.
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:40 PM ^
Wtf are you talking about? We have a Top247 DT, a top 300 LB, a TE who I would be a lot of money will be a 4 star and a 6'5" 275 DT who apparently is going to be moved up soon. Take a chill pill
December 22nd, 2020 at 7:58 PM ^
Normally I would be with you, but one, O-Line is the hardest position group to project and two, evaluations are way behind due to the covid year with no camps and limited film. We will see tons of movement outside of the top 50 prospects.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:49 PM ^
Hopefully he will be a Monumental get for the 2022 class!
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:49 PM ^
Warriner back for sure I’m guessing
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:58 PM ^
Well. I am sure this gives Bucknuts more fodder to rip us. Anyway ..... it’s 2022 and you never know what can happen.
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:37 PM ^
Why do you care what Bucknuts thinks?
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:58 PM ^
Meat for the meat God.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:13 PM ^
Could we be so bold to call him the James Connor of OTs? :)

Big, reasonably athletic kid. Competition does not look good so it's hard to read anything more.
December 23rd, 2020 at 1:41 AM ^
I'm meh on this one. I watched some none highlight tape of his and I see slow feet who has trouble with edge rushers.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:52 PM ^
dope, will be DT playing weight once the season starts
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:18 PM ^
Rankings this next cycle are going to be scattered due to Covid. Good early evaluations are going to be at a premium.
December 22nd, 2020 at 5:24 PM ^
Rankings are going to change a lot this year. They'll be able to have summer camps in 2021 and that will help and they'll all play games next fall as well. Outside of the top 100 or so, I don't think they are all that useful at the moment.
December 23rd, 2020 at 1:33 AM ^
I live about 15 minutes from this kid’s school and high school football is just not that good out this way. I’m skeptical but hoping for the best.
