2019 roster-recruiting finish
So..
We all know attrition is coming, im still thinking class size of 28.
NFL early entries:
Patterson
Long
Bush
Gary
Not going to name names but I could see:
1 qb transfer
1 rb transfer
1 OL transfer/1 OL 5th year firm handshake
1 DE transfer/ 1 DE 5th year firm handshake
1 safety transfer
1 punter transfer
1 kicker transfer
So that’s 13 departures which would allow for a class size of 28 to be at 85 scholarships. Obviously a bit of a guess but this is still some agressive attrition projected.
Class size 25 currently, minus Gray likely decommit. Means 4 more commits.
Possible commits:
1 WR. Because wow we need one.
TE Robinson
OT Keegan
OT Jones
DT/SDE Karlifitis
DE Harrison
LB Deloach
LB Solomon
LB Crouch
Might be a few more that pop up or the class could grow if we get another decommit or two. My realistic hope is that we get a quality WR, an OT, Harrison (I don’t think Karlifitis will come as it looks like Brohm may stay) and one the LBs.

Nailed it.

You’re too fucking dumb to be a good troll so fuck off.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
Red - I have addressed your requests for me to fuck off in another one of your replies. We're on to Indianapolis. Next question.

Did Urban really lose by 29 to Purdue?
hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahhahahahahahahahh
November 27th, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
"WE"? You on the team??
November 27th, 2018 at 5:49 PM ^
He's got his official buckeye cockring so why not?
November 27th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
Don't worry, Urban will have forgotten all about the successful game plan by next year. He will deny he knew anything about it.
November 27th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
You're probably right on this one. If the short term memory is as bad as they say it is (doubtful) .... but who knows. What were we talking about?
November 27th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
I actually appreciate this dedicated troll.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:35 PM ^
Your appreciation, is appreciated.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:54 PM ^
Did Urban really lose to Purdue by 29 points? Seriously? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha!
November 27th, 2018 at 4:32 PM ^
Sorry doc ruined your reply protected. His copy/paste macro went a little crazy on him it seems.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:28 PM ^
Think Karlaftis and Crouch are more in the “if something crazy happened” at this point. seems like Purdue and Clemson are the odds on favorites.
hope we can get Harrison, a WR, an OT and one of the LBs we are in good shape. obviously would take Karlaftis or Crouch and make room if they can get them.
Dont think we need a TE in this class. hope they pass on that.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
I’ll name names who I think is gonna transfer.
Jaylen Kelly-Powell
Ron Johnson Jr will get the firm handshake
Brandon Peters
O’Maury Saunders
I don’t want any lineman to leave, we need depth.
Gary, Bush, Long leave early.
The only recruits I think we finish up with are Anthony Solomon, Zach Harrison, Darius Robinson and Trevor Keegan. Maybe another late steal from a lower program.
Shea will come back (even though deep down I think he really wanted to leave but knew he should come back).
Gentry will come back too.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
O'Maury Saunders, huh? Is he related to Bob Sanders? Or O'Maury Povich?
November 27th, 2018 at 1:49 PM ^
I cannot spell, nor do I quite hear players names right. I sound like my dad attempting to mention modern day pop culture. This is the second time you have dinged me in consecutive days, Magnus! I’m not in grad school to be a writer I promise.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
I don't even remember doing it yesterday. I'm an equal opportunity dinger.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:05 PM ^
I mentioned Darius Robertson as a possible commit of the commit watch post and you politely corrected me as it Robinson.
November 27th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
Hootie is going to commit? no friggin' way!
November 27th, 2018 at 1:50 PM ^
He's Josh Martellus' cousin, I think
November 27th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
Col. Saunders.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:54 PM ^
If it happens like you lay out, we will be about 5 over the limit. No one “wants” people to leave but we don’t have room for a class of even 28 unless we have more departures than that.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
Okay, I’ll had Robbins, the Gray the decommit, Vilian, Paea and St. Juste to the list that will leave
November 27th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
I have no idea about any of the others, but I doubt that Villain leaves. Sounds like he has been progressing nicely but has had injury issues.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:59 PM ^
I love (and get it) how you say "the only recruits" we end up with and then list four seriously outstanding recruits. The reality is that JH is killing it this year in recruiting.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
I mean only mostly in the sense that we don’t the number of commits that some people speculate. 4 instead of 6 or 7.
November 27th, 2018 at 6:36 PM ^
Keegan prefers Georgia but his parents want him at Michigan- should be interesting.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:33 PM ^
Would still be shocked if Brohm does not leave Purdue for Louisville, so I think Karlaftis is still in play, and Michigan would absolutely need to make room for him - Karlaftis is tailor made to play Anchor.
A finish of Zach Harrison, Trevor Keegan, Kalen DeLoach, a big-bodied WR and potentially Karlaftis would make this one of our best, if not the best, recruiting classes in a decade. Mentioned this yesterday but one of the keys to avoiding a repeat of Saturday is steadily narrowing the recruiting and talent gap.
Not sure who the name at WR is/will be; seems Cornelius Johnson is likely Stanford bound, and we may be running 3rd in that race behind ND. McElwain needs to earn his keep and pound the pavement for another recruit (shudders).
November 27th, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
Sounds like McElwain may be moving on too. Rumors of him getting looked at for OC positions.
November 27th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
He's not on scholarship.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:48 PM ^
In terms of sleepers for larger WRs, really like Tarik Luckett who is committed to Colorado (undergoing a coaching change). A lowly 3-star and 653 overall player on the Composite, but a 4-star and 355 overall player to 247. Plays against great competition in CA too (LB Poly, Mater Dei, Servite, St. John Bosco).
November 27th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
We probably would need to convenience a high-profile receiver our passing schemes are going to change to have a legit shot at flipping one. The production from our current high-profile receivers is not great, and has not much to do with their talent either.
November 27th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
Nico seems to be getting some catches, but with Patterson and/or McCaffrey slinging it, we should be airing it out like we had Desmond Howard and Derrick Alexander. I want to use the pass to set up the run.
November 27th, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
At least on first fucking down.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:35 PM ^
Hill is leaving. Patterson is not.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:40 PM ^
Why are we so sure the CBs are leaving? Is that something that someone has inside information on?
Only two guys that really make sense are Bush and (sort of) Gary.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:48 PM ^
Yeah, they played good, but they never really got tested by any quality QB's, until.......
I thought they played pretty well. (Long and Hill that is), but will they be highly regarded in this years draft?
November 27th, 2018 at 1:50 PM ^
It's all speculation at this point. Both corners have decisions to make because the NFL would gladly take them, but either/both could come back, too.
We probably won't know for a bit. Believe players/schools hear back from the NFL Draft Advisory Board early Jan.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:13 PM ^
Sam Webb has said he believes both Hill and Long are leaving.
November 27th, 2018 at 2:22 PM ^
Thanks. That's new to me but I'm sure that's solid at least in terms of where they're leaning.
November 27th, 2018 at 3:07 PM ^
Hill and Long are both rated top-10 corners in this year's class. That's good enough for a second day pick, which is good enough to justify leaving early..
November 27th, 2018 at 1:40 PM ^
We have 2 scholarship punters?
November 27th, 2018 at 1:51 PM ^
Either Hart or Robbins will be on scholarship next year, not both.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:40 PM ^
This year only had 16(?) 4th and 5th year guys but they are going to be bringing in 28-30 freshmen. Assuming 3-4 early entries next year's team will still be more experienced than this year's.
Seems like a really good set up for bringing a massive, talented group of freshmen along.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:41 PM ^
I think Patterson leaves.
I don’t see a kicker transferring.
I think Samuels stays.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:46 PM ^
You mean Saunders?
/s
November 27th, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
I wouldn’t be betting on Karlifitis yet. That Brohm hasn’t left yet seems to indicate he may at least stay through the early signing period.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:47 PM ^
It ain't Karlifitis.
It's Karlaftis.
November 27th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
He gone.
But he's not officially leaving until after his buyout shrinks on 12/5.
November 27th, 2018 at 3:55 PM ^
According to medical researchers, Karlifitis is treatable, BUT there are serious side effects from the treatment, including nausea, fever, body aches and pains, hacking, coughing, sneezing, wheezing, difficulty urinating, weight gain, swollen ankles, migraines, difficulty defecating, memory loss, delusions of grandeur, anxiety, depression, projectile vomiting, weakness, difficulty sleeping, speaking in tongues, weight loss, paranoia, sleepwalking, uncontrollable hopping, loss of dexterity, cracked skin, hair loss, suicidal thoughts, agitation, homicidal thoughts, daydreaming, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, constipation, incoherent mumbling, sore throat, itching, scratching, blurry vision, fear of heights, fear of depths, fear of gravity, pervasive acne, inability to parallel park, hearing loss, erectile dysfunction, frequent urination, diarrhea, intermittent gargling, feelings of malaise and repetitive silly walking.
