I would like to thank the whole UM family of fans and coaches for the wonderful opportunity in this recruiting process.  After much discussion with my family, I have decided I will back off my commitment to the University of Michigan.  I truly feel this is the best course of action in order to make the right decision for me.  #NoQuestions #Comments

That is true - they (A. State) were national champs in the crab salad division (sorry but I have no idea what their tier was/is called) the year before they showed up in the Big House. We took them too lightly.

To top it off, Lloyd didn't pronouce Appalachian to their liking, and all the arrogant ass stuff that we are prone to happened as well.

I know that all the angst that followed was a bitch, but when Chad Henne healed we f-ing stomped Florida in the bowl game. So I won't live in the idealized past, but rather I choose to dwell in the "who has it better than us" future...

So I remember the sweet release of 1997 and for that Lloyd will always be a great Michigan coach in my inebriated opinion.

There have been more than a few rumors floated that the team as a whole was quite thoroughly baked before The Horror. Maybe the discipline was where Lloyd was lax toward the end.

If Taylor wants to open up his recruitment, he should. Better to be sure. I have heard from some Ohio State fans that Urban has the luxury of slow playing Ohio guys. While Taylor is opening things up, I fully expect Honingford (out of Sugarcreek, OH) and Hudson (out of Toledo, OH) to keep their commitments. Being that they are in the 2017 class, plus OSU doesn't have room for them, that's what will happen.

While we can't count on commitments from Ohio sticking that far in advance, it is obvious that you have to identify potential recruits far, far in advance, and get "offers" out to them early.  You can see that Harbaugh has greatly increased the staff for recruiting. Building relationships with players early in their high school careers is a great thing to do. While it probably won't result in Taylor coming to Michigan, this kind of early recruiting will pay off in coming years.

Best of luck to the kid, he has 2 years to figure it out...... Honestly it's best for him to take the time and really evaluate where he wants to go.

Whatever I guess, let him feel out his options. 2018 is going to be a star packed class anyway. I'll take anyones bet if they want to wager against me. Not going to be as huge as this last year and the present one's predictions. Going to have to be the best of the best of the best. I see that happening. If you want to run with the big dawgs you are going to have to get off the porch boys!

Next Up Please...Jim will find a better player, no doubt.  And if he does go to OSU then here's to remembering "the Marcus Hall".

Yes, the on-field product is what really matters, but this kid certainly seemed to be a great player. At 6-6, 258, he has excellent size for the position, and players from Ohio have often panned out well for the Blue.

Solomon was more of a surprise, but I thought this kid was the better player, in the long run. Just my two cents.

That having been said, nothing cures this like have our players work really hard in camp and producing a great season.
