Yeah I noticed him tweet to Countess today. Very nice.
2013 5-Star CB to visit
be one heleva combo next year. It would certainly give him some comfort knowing Blake is on the other sdie. They have great history together.
Man, would it ever be nice if Hoke et al get another early start on reeling in some talent like last spring/summer. This kid would make a good 3rd commit to go along with Morris and Thomas.
Bahhh. Reeling in 3 top 40 players including 2 5-stars should this early should be an expectation, not a hope.
P.S. Do I need that "/s" thing to make sure everyone knows that I am being sarcastic?
He has got to still be a Va Tech lean...that said, always good to get him on campus early.
Rivals says Fuller is similar to Charles Woodson.
Charles Woodson but with jumping ability and better hands. Nice try, but we all know Fred Jackson secretly wrote that.
"Charles Woodson but with jumping ability and better hands."
There is absolutely no way of knowing that... Woodson never used more than one.
I'm all in.
Demar Dorsey out of Grand Rapids, MI
It seems like they just plug in a height and weight, and their program spits out a current pro. Charles Woodson is one of, if not the greatest athlete I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
So we're only taking cornerbacks from Good Counsel or Cass Tech from now on.
That doesn't seem like a bad idea actually. Glad Hoke and Co. thought of it.
Really. If they each have one 4 *or 5* per year, that would do the trick.
If we're going to keep this up it would be nice if they start growing them a little bigger down at Cass. Still love the pipeline though
Let's get Sugar Shane to start recruiting him
Just don't let Meyer hear about this. If he does, there's no way we'll get him.
I was about to say that ohio might not even have room for him if they get Eli Woodard. As I was typing that I remembered that Meyer brought the SEC with him to ohio.
Based on what I've read, OSU seems to be in a very strong position for Eli Woodard.
how to neg you I would.
You must not understand sarcasm.
In order to neg somebody, all you need to do is go to the "Beveled Guilt" thing in the upper right hand corner of the site, click "make a donation", and donate $25, then you'll become a trusted user, which is when you can moderate people's comments and start threads and diaries.
Do you get a unicorn shipped to you as well?
Can we assume that's why Hoke was at his school the other day and not there to see Diggs? Please let that one die already. Besides, there isn't room for Diggs and DGB in the same class. Lol
Fuller wasn't there when the coaching staff was there. They could've been visiting Dorian O'Daniel.
What i said was a joke. Didn't O'Daniel say they never talked to him though?
We are also after Dorian O'Daniel (2013 LB) out of good counsel who seems to be pretty high on us
EDIT: Beat by seconds
Tremendous talked to both Fuller and O'Daniel, neither of whom said they talked to the staff when they were in school. However, the staff regularly visits top schools in order to establish closer relationships with the coaches, get tape of new prospects, or they could have been there to talk to other prospects like top '14 OL Sam Madaras. So, they weren't talking to Fuller or O'Daniel. But to assume that it means they were there for Diggs would be...misguided.
Well the coaches most likely didn't talk to them because I don't think they are allowed to visit the 2013 kids in school yet. I may be wrong on this as I think I remeber a Tremendous interview with a 2013 guy and the coaches can only talk to admin and hs coaches to ask for tape and talk about grades and stuff. Again not sure on the rules here but I think our staff didn't talk to them because they couldn't, but I'm sure they asked about them.
By 'talk' I meant 'see'. The coaches would still likely have let the players know if the Michigan staff had been in to see them practice, get film, etc. Any contact b/w the staff and '13 prospects is, legally speaking, supposed to be initiated by the prospect.
CB recruiting in 2013 begins and ends with Shaquille Wiggins.
Shaq is easily one of my favorite recruits, but you can't get too attached to players. Fuller is one of the best in this class. It'll be interesting to see who the coaches pursue the hardest.
Are you saying we take only 1 CB in 2013 class?
No, that was just for dramatic effect. I haven't seen anyone in high school who plays the ball better than he does. Not Fuller, Wright, or Reeves (Or, for a player that has already panned out, Dre Kirkpatrick). Not even close from what I've seen from their tapes availible on Youtube. He also plays ball carriers quite a bit better than Fuller does on film. I think he's a guy you can leave out on an island, and you can't be more valuable than that as a CB. If he enables us to send Odjemudia and Ryan off the edge without reservation, then that would make the difference on a lot of drives. Fuller may be a great prospect too, but I think Shaquille is ready right now.
I didn't know that about Wiggins. Thanks for the indepth analysis.
Took my boys (6 and 8) to see several of his games this past year. The kid can play!
And, don't worry, while I wear a Michigan hat everywhere as standard non-work attire, I never would approach the kid or try to talk to him or recruit him or any of that nonsense... just wanted to take my boys to see good high school football.
If he goes Blue, we'll be getting a great player.
He just got his UGA offer he was waiting for, so it got that much harder.
I don't get it
Did you notice it says "Kendall Fuller reminds us of...." Charles.
He will follow his brother's step.
"a package deal"
at Green Bay Packers U, so how much can we trust them?
Michigan will be Good if we can build a Good pipeline to Good Counsel.
I saw Fuller when I went to Good Counsel to scout (I'm using the term very loosely) Stefon Diggs earlier this year. Ace posted a roundup here. These are my thoughts on Fuller from the game:
Kendall Fuller [2013 four-star cornerback]—Fuller was the most impressive defensive player on the field Friday night. I don't think that reflects poorly on Diggs, mostly because St. John's QB (he's going somewhere for college...I couldn't find it in a quick search...)* stayed away from Diggs' side. Fuller made plays all night, displayed great coverage, had (by my count) 3 pass breakups, several tackles, and even contributed in stuffing the run game toward the line of scrimmage (before St. John's abandoned it). St. John's was a solid team coming into the game and Good Counsel only gave up seven, shutting them out after the first quarter.
I don't really know how to scout the technical aspects of high schoolers but apparently 5-star cornerbacks can even be spotted by people like me.
Dude is sick.
A corner back compared to Woodson a must get.GO BLUE!!!
It's good to get those kids on campus young and start building that relationship.
Can you imagine starting 2013 with three 5* recruits? Ha. I'm definitely dreaming, but that'd be some good news right there.
Who projects him as a 5* ?
I think Rivals has him as #37 in the country. They usually have around 30 5* players in each class, and he's one of those guys who has a good chance of moving up. If he's ranked in the top 50 on Scout he's automatically a 5*.
Can we sign him?
Hope this leads to good things for next year. We have great class this year, but it's starting to end in disapopintment.
Kind of like your spelling of that word
I don't expect to sign him, then again I hate it when people try to project where kids will go to schools, the only people who know what they are thinking is themselves and those closest to them.. Good news though, hopefully he enjoys himself.
Sounds like you're dealing with a little self-loathing. There's no reason to expect that he will come here, and there's no reason to expect he won't come here. The fact that our CB depth is wide open heading into next year and his old teammate started as a freshman is a good selling point and a visit this early is a cause for optimism rather than pessimism.
I like all the 5 star recruits I'm hearing about for 2013. Looks to be another top 5 class. Go Blue!
