#2 M field hockey beats #1 Iowa 3-2 in B1G Semifinal

Michigan avenged a painful (and naturally, controversial) regular season loss to Iowa on the B1G stage last night. Sofia Southam scored two and assisted on a third.

Michigan is facing #3 Rutgers in Piscataway tomorrow at noon the B1G championship. It is on BTN, so it will be a good opportunity to enjoy.  Yes, the B1G has the top three programs in the country.  #5 Northwestern, #6 Maryland and #7 Penn State also reside in the B1G. That feels like a Michigan ice hockey roster.

Congrats ladies, good luck tomorrow, and go blue!

is it just me or does it seem like our girls' field hockey team have bad luck with the officials? On top of the game you mentioned they caught a terrible break/call against my other alma mater UNC in the playoffs last season. Sample size of 2, but still.....

Michigan women's soccer will also be playing for the big ten tournament title tomorrow on BTN. Coincidentally, also against Rutgers.

Noon BTN: #3 Rutgers vs #2 Michigan - field hockey

2pm BTN: #4 Rutgers vs #13 Michigan  - women's soccer

[edit: i originally had the game times swapped, now fixed]

Rutgers regular season title in womens soccer was their first ever Big Ten title (in any sport), and they have a chance to add tomorrow.

Rutgers is also hosting both games. Field hockey was predetermined before the season, and they are hosting soccer due to being the #1 seed.

Big Ten field hockey has been insane this season. They collectively dominated the non conference season, including MANY matchups against the ACC powers including UNC, Louisville, Wake, BC, etc, who have dominated the sport forever.
