... monster is a goaline package? i havent played the game but basicly the only time you would be able to use it in college football would be in 4th downs and goaline. ive never actually seen it used before but im not a fan, i like true big ten football, power I shove it down their throat
No, you seem to be able to do it on every down.
... thats kinda weird
NCAA rulebook says this formation is only legal during obvious kicking situations for example... goalline and 4th downs. read the rules before you negg me.
"Monster" is what the NCAA series calls the Emory and Henry Formation. It's been in the series for at least a year.
about 3 plays. It won't really be a factor in online play.
Yep, it was in 2010, very easy to use it and exploit the cpu
Southern Carolina busted it out on me in 2010 in a bowl game once, and I about pooped my pants when I saw it. I had never seen anything like it.
I can see how you could do some crazy damage screening it out to those WRs, where they have two lead blockers.
Southern Carolina?
I resemble that remark...
Why are there only 10 guys on the field for the offense?
The QB is under center.
getting old, because I have no f'ing idea what you guys are talking about.
If you're ever playing Tecmo Bowl, however, when you get sick of handing it to Bo make sure you hit Todd Christiansen up the seam for an easy six!
Wasn't this deemed 'illegal'?
Its cool to have it in the game, but if its not realistic or allowed then I don't see the point.
As long as you have seven on the line of scrimage, you can line up any way you like. Of course there are other rules that govern what can be done once the ball is snapped, but formation wise, this is good.
The formation is still legal, but how they used it in california (the A11) is illegal. The biggest advantage with it was they had everyone report eligible, and as long as 5 guys stayed on the line, the other 5 could do whatever.
The formation is legal as long as your lineman, who report as lineman with ineligible numbers, stay on the line
Pretty sure Spurrier runs this exact formation at South Carolina on occasion.
Random question about the demo not related to this but in the preview it shows the offense lining up for a play and all the WR's, QB and O-Line look over to the sideline for the next play a la Michigan and many other spread programs. I was playing a game with Florida and I tried numerous times to maybe audible to make this happen but when audibling, it came from my QB and not the sideline. Not that this is a huge issue but for looks it would be sweet to line up with Tate and have Roundtree, Odoms, etc. look to the sideline for the playcall.
Yeah I was wondering this as well. It's not supposed to be for audibles, but for the no-huddle. Whenever I've used it though (on the PS3, clicking the triangle at the end of the prior play) I don't see them looking to the sideline. Maybe there's another way to enter the no-huddle mode?
I went through the EA Sports blog to try and find this out but I haven't had any luck. I need to figure it out though...need to.
Try posting on the Operation Sports forums?
Just did. I'll let you know if anyone knows.
