Interesting. Agree that I really don't care. I'm not sure I buy that MSU was "really his first choice the whole time" thing. Since a preferred walk-on pays their own way and doesn't count against anything wouldn't Dantonio have taken him in a heartbeat as a walk-on?

Well Dantonio never offered him a preferred walk-on spot. Can't really just become a PWO without an offer...

He's 185 pounds? How on earth does he block defensive tackles? Why aren't teams lining up two Will Campbells across from him and blocking every field goal State tries?

You can't line up over the line snapper, and I believe you can't rush at him until he picks his head up. Most LS don't even pick their head up.
There are rules in college, pro, and high school that are a little different here, but I think ou can't even be rushed at in college if you keep your head down.
