UM Will Compete this year

Submitted by umumber1 on
I was worried about the season, but, after reading the Free PRess Article Friday about T. Taylor, no more worries.  He said he lost 30 pounds, is in the best shape and he realizes how out of shape he has been in.  I have been saying for 10 years how heavy and out of shape we were. That is why we were constantly placgued with injuries.  No more.  I predict a roaring defense holding us in each game and the offense playing more conservative than anyone is predicting.  Sort of like OSU did on their National Championship run a few years back.

yeah i got that vibe too, right after i read that same article yesterday.. no doubt in my mind we're going to surprise a lot of people/critics (in a good way) this season. call me crazy but one loss heading to columbus doesn't seem far-fetched to me.

I fear that in 5 months people are going to be reading these posts and laughing like I was when I went back to read ND fans predictions last year - "we can win most of these games, no way we're worse than 8-4 and probably more like 10-2, i can even see 11-1 if we get a couple breaks!! GO IRISH!".

after having watched michigan for the last 13 years and watching the last 5 years of WVU games from the interwebs, there's a definite 4th quarter trend. Michigan was either running out of gas, or trying to cling to a lead. In the last 5 years, we've failed miserably at holding on to double digit leads in the 4th. WVU however takes close halftime games and turns them into laughers, then puts in their scrubs, and the scrubs keep on scoring. So take a wild guess as to which team was in better condition.

I agree that we'll be in better shape than ever before, but I don't think it will make up for the inexperience on offense. I'll be perfectly satisfied to have only 3 losses going into Columbus

I wish Brian would revamp the diary section and only allow a few of the posters to make entries. And if you wish to make entries, maybe all you'd have to do is shoot Brian a simple 10 word email showing you have some kind of understanding of the English language, which this dude clearly doesn't. Until that happens, we'll be forced to suffer through daily doses of "LOLz were goin 11-1 at worse LOLz" and 15 word explorations into just how out of control our awesomeness will be next year. This kind of 3rd grade nonsense goes on the message board. And atleast get your own stupid name right. Otherwise, please explain what in the world umumber1 means.

And at least get your own stupid name right. Otherwise, please explain what in the world umumber1 means.

What does that even mean, we will compete? You could lose every game by one touchdown, and call that competing. Theres a big difference between competing, and actually winning. I saw that in the michigan vs wisconsin game of last year. I am treating next season very safely, seeing as we lost many players on offense, including the head of the offense, the QB. I think its premature and overly zealous to believe we will be just as strong as ever. I want to be fair to myself, and my emotions next season by feeling that it wouldn't be unreasonable to be 7-5.
