WTKA Roundtable 9/16/2021: The School Bus Was Late Comment Count

Seth September 16th, 2021 at 10:34 AM

Things discussed:

  • Welcome back Brian.
  • Thank you, John Donovan. Our defense had it easy.
  • Mazi and Hinton came in for Aidan-like scores but CONTEXT.
  • Hello there Rod Moore. Junior Colson less encouraging.
  • Ryan Hayes PAVED. Counter worked, why stop?
  • What does this say about the passing game? They clearly don’t have much confidence in it.
  • Seth: You play an opponent. Washington had safeties way back. Michigan has RUNNING BACKS.
  • Hockey recruiting: the Alabama of hockey, except recruiting matters less in this.

It brought joy to my heart to see Sam effusively read the messages at the beginning of the broadcast welcoming Brian back. It nearly brought a tear to my eye to see Brian crack a smile in response.

I know how healing it can be to feel seen. Brian, I hope you felt seen today.

I'll be curious to hear the context.  I watched this game twice, once live and once on DVR where I focused my eyes mostly on the DTs when Washington had the ball.  I noticed a lot of push from Mazi.  I'm still left a bit disappointed by Hinton.  He's fine and all.  He may even be good next year.  He's just not what I was hoping for from a 5-star, which was more like Hurst.  He just doesn't get off the ball very quick.  He seems to get in a pushing match with his opposition every snap whereas Hurst was always slashing between guys to get into the backfield.  Oh well, such is life.

Mazi and others faced folks that got pulled against Montana.

So, take Mazi's success with a grain of salt huh?  I was really hoping two composite top 100ish recruits who are now juniors would be pretty much dominating everyone not named OSU, PSU, & Wiscy :/
