The 2nd goal given up by Mann was bad in a pressure situation. I'm worried we're going to have to go full out open-the-barn-doors (to borrow a Redmond-ism) to win in the tournament.

You can fault Mann to some extent on all three goals.
Very worrisome.
Does it seem to you that Mann has been noticeably worse on the second day of back-to-back games this season? I haven't really run the numbers, but it does seem like this has been the case for him. Portillo getting all of those starts in January and February kind of reinforced that for me.
Hard to say what the approach to goaltending should be in the tournament, other than the goalie who starts needs to be on a tight leash--any sign of being "off" should lead to a quick hook.

To contribute my 2 cents to "what's next"...
BRIDGEPORT, CT
#1 Boston College v #4 American Int'l
#2 Michigan v #3 Boston University
ALBANY, NY
#1 Wisconsin v #4 Providence
#2 Massachusetts v #3 Quinnipiac
FARGO, ND
#1 North Dakota v #4 Notre Dame*
#2 Minnesota State v #3 Minnesota-Duluth
LOVELAND, CO
#1 Minnesota v #4 The University of Nebraska at Omaha
#2 St Cloud State v #3 Bemidji State
* Maybe Denver makes it instead of Notre Dame, despite Denver having a losing record. If that's the case, move Denver to Loveland, The University of Nebraska at Omaha to Bridgeport and American International to Fargo.
If it does fall out like this, Michigan is in a winnable region.

I think Mann will be fine but he needs to get his confidence up for the next game. If he's shaky, Pearson isn't wrong to give him a hook and see what Portillo can do. The team is too good to not make a change when they have potential to make the Frozen Four.
