The Sponsors
We can do this because people support us. You should support them too so they’ll want to do it again next year! The show is presented by UGP & The Bo Store, and if it wasn’t for Rishi and Ryan we’d be all be very sad ex-SBNation employees with “real” jobs.

1. Offense vs WMU
starts at 1:00
Michigan’s pass protection was good but were never really given opportunities. Run blocking wasn't a quantum leap forward compared to previous, but that’s not bad because Michigan’s run blocking is already good. Shea’s throws were mostly very good, he feels like the 5 star he was touted to be. Tru Wilson and Jake McCurry looked sharp in garbage time. Can we see more Hudson and Honigford please?
2. Defense vs WMU
starts at 17:55
Carlo Kemp was the big story of the week, earning a net 7.5 on this week’s UFR. Who knows if Dwumfour will ever emerge, but Kemp is on track to be a 3-tech starter. Kwitty Paye looked good. Josh Ross looks like he’s pulling away from Devin Gil. LaVert Hill is not A+ yet but just an A is fine.
3. Gimmicky Top Five: Real Schools That Sound Fake
starts at 37:04
Brian and Seth get animated about North Texas and armadillos. Then they begin naming their top 5 real colleges that sound fake..
4. SMU Preview
starts at 58:56
SMU got shredded by North Texas and then TCU. They’re not good and probably the worst team on Michigan’s schedule this year. They have a Kansas transfer at tackle (!). The Mustangs have a pretty good slot receiver though. There’s just not much talent on this roster anywhere and a ton of transfers.

Per Wikipedia, how Texas State got its name:
Southwest Texas State Normal School (1899) >
Southwest Texas State Normal College (1918) >
Southwest Texas State Teachers College (1923) >
Southwest Texas State College (1959) >
Southwest Texas State University (1969) >
Texas State University-San Marcos (2003) >
Texas State University (2013)

Their mascot is the Bobcat. Dennis Franchione (former head coach of Texas A&M) was their head coach from 2011 to 2015.

I'm beginning to think Brian likes to disagree with a lot of people.

You've been here 8 years and you're just now picking up on that?

I'm a little slow

It's all good.
Brian's been a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma for almost a year now.

Hahaha - That top five segment was hilarious. I guess that’s what happens the week between cannon fodder.
Oral Roberts University should have been number 1 though. I bet it’s actually used in some movies. Perhaps I’ll do an internet search... for science.

St. Cloud State
Florida Gulf Coast
Coastal Carolina
Stetson
Gonzaga
Arkansas-Pine Bluffs (I don't know why I always that was funny)

A -- the film is called Necessary Roughness
B -- The real real life analogue is SMU since it's about coming off the death penalty.

Yep - at the beginning they detail all of the NCAA violations the program incurred. They broke every rule from recruiting violations to academic fraud to performance enhancing drugs. Now that I'm familiar with the misdeeds of SMU it def appears it was based on SMU. It was also an attempt to make a 'Major League' of college football.
The cast is amazing - Kathy Ireland, Hector Elizondo, Fred Thompson, Jason Bateman, ROBERT LOGGIA, ROB SCHNEIDER. SINBAD. SINBAD! Even the guys who played Stonehands and the annoying dean have been in a ton of stuff.
I would love for there to be a bunch of Necessary Roughness referecnes on this blog this season.

I joined the blog just so I can inform Brian and Seth there is such a school as the University of Maryland University College, which I have to assume has a mascot of the 'Turtle Terrapin Turtle Turtles.'
