Brandon's low profile: Angelique
There is a nice article at the News by Angelique regarding Dave Brandon's low profile while recruiting a head coach.
An interesting quote:
Brandon said he ordered room-service meals and would have his wife, Jan, take delivery of the meal. "I would be hiding while Jan answered the door, so the room-service guy wouldn't Tweet," Brandon said, laughing.
This under-cover business is better than sailing, but a sure sign of the needed paranoia in maintaining confidentiality when conducting a search.

I'd be real surprised if Brandon did anything but enhance our image with two very important groups with the way he handled this. Those groups being coaches and players. If what he said publicly about giving Rodriguez a full evaluation period through the bowl game is true, it says volumes about this being an institution where coaches can count on the word of people in charge. The players also came first in that scenerio.
As much as everyone likes to claim they know it wasn't true, there is no evidence to suggest they are right.

The boundless, groundless hostility directed at DB continues to confound and astound me.

Bringing the wife on the corporate jet? I hope he paid for her seat out of his own pocket.
The nerve of that man.
