Brandon: Nothing until 'back half' of next week
Just thought this little Associated Press brief was interesting. Commence reading between the lines ...
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon plans to talk to coach Rich Rodriguez about his future soon after both are back on campus.
Brandon says he probably won’t have more to say until the back half of next week.
... now!

We will only know how good a decision was made 2-3 years down the road by whether we return to our 1997 form in terms of victories and Big 10 championships or whether we will be wandering in the desert with another blow-up and start over. Hope we can build on what we have!
RR looked very good when he was hired, so that's why things are not always so simple as they seem.

I have become indifferent on the JH vs. RR situation. Brady Hoke scares the shit out of me though.

Not surprising at all. I am curious to know if we have to wait a certain number of days before we can officially announce the hiring of the next coach because of the rules about posting the job publicly.

I mean, with my MGoBoard experience, how can I fail to be considered?

Because if it is, you'd certainly have my vote. You had some great posts this year.
Unless Brian runs. I mean, you're cool and all, but he runs the site and I'm jonesing for +1 Million MGoPoints in return for my endorsement.

If he runs, my candidacy is toast. (Though maybe if I concede and throw my support behind him, I can get in on some of that MGoPoint action...)

or do we need to wait until the Spring Game?

has it all figured out. Saves him money on the buyout. Have the opportunity to throw more money at JH. With Trent Balke Niners acting GM with a full court press to ink JH after the orange bowl is certainly interesting. Even Carolina firing Fox, they have the number 1 pick (A. Luck) could be enticing. Best scenario Urban Meyer saves the day! Sarcasm there. Seriously best case JH or LM. I don't care how many dominos pizzas BH orders, please no BH as the HC. What if DB offers the HC job to JH, who accepts only to burn them one more time. Head to the NFL and were stuck with John Gruden.

There are NCAA mandatory black interview quotas for any open coaches job. So watch for any possible black HCs coming through MetroAirport this week.
I assume they would meet in Chicago or Cleveland with JH to blend in, but Mary Sue isn't going to run to Chicago in a secret trip just to waste an hour with an AA interview.

Pretty sure the mandatory interview for a black coaching candidate is with the NFL. Otherwise I missed something when Muschamp was just hired at Florida or RR was hired here originally.

We didn't interview anyone during Lloyd's replacement.
I just hope Michigan football is willing to pay the price here.

We did indeed ... We interviewed Ron English for the HC job
