Good Primer on BitTorrents on How to Geek...
Most of the video we see was at some point a torrent. This just went up on How-to-Geek explaining what BitTorrents are and how to get started. I thought this might be a worthy FYI post...

Look for me on the news when I'm nailed with $500M in fines from pirated songs, movies, and TV shows. When they are raiding my home COPS style, I will be the one trying to bribe the guys with mgopoints.

If your going to use Torrent or other P2P programs, please use PeerBlock. It can't completely protect you, but some protection is better then none.
What is PeerBlock?

You can get it here:

It essentially has a list of "bad" IP addresses that are thought to belong to companies looking to catch and sue you for illegal downloads (e.g. media companies, law firms...).
The only issue is that if you don't know how to change all of the settings, it will block those IP addresses from your normal internet surfing. If that's the case, you can disable that portion, but if you aren't sure how to do this, just wait until your downloads are done and then shut down peer block and UTorrent and resume surfing as usual.

Never looked for games on Usenet but using encrypted news servers is generally much faster and more secure.
