Eyesore Alert - Nike Pro Combat Unis Released
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/100901_college_football_update
While some of the uniforms don't appear to be as horrible as their descriptions sounded in print, that is only because nothing could be as bad as they sounded in print.
At least OSU fans can take comfort in the fact that their unis are not as ugly as those of Virginia Tech. Almost, but not quite.

Could Paul Lukas look any more like a sex offender if he tried? I don't think so....eesh....his mug is worse than the Va Tech unis!

What he said ^

Instead of just seeing "Pro Combat" and assuming its a rehash of those posts, you could click on the link and see its a running slideshow of every team's new uniforms. For those who missed the live conference, this is worth checking out if you were interested.

While that may be true. This post could easily have been added to any of those three threads, thus bumping it to the top of the MGoBoard. Several of these threads have already been deleted today for the same reason. If this one survives, so be it. At least it isn't the 32501.24th thread about the damn divisions today.

Fair point.
This duel ends in a draw.

Sorry. The Board moves pretty fast these days, and it wasn't covered in the first 5 pages that I saw. This was, however, the first place that I have seen each team's unis covered in detail (not cartoon drawings of them, for example).
Feel free to delete away, and I humbly beg forgiveness for my transgression.

Nothing to see here.

Oregon State, Miami and Alabama all have sweet combinations.....Miami's helmet is probably the coolest single piece to come out of the entire set.
TCU, Boise State and Virginia Tech all look absolutely hideous. Watching Monday's game might end up hurting your eyes!
The rest are meh.

Why do most of these kids have a sad look on their face in these pics? Oh yeah... Their uniforms are embarrasing.
September 1st, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
But I wish we were still sponsored by nike

Boise State's are LEGIT. Miami's are sweet too, especially the helmet. It's all about The U!
September 1st, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
Damn I wish we had the block 'M' on our gloves like that. Adidas needs to make us some sweet new away unis to make up for it.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
..that you were speaking with only sarcasm. Why the fcuk do I need an M on the gloves?
September 1st, 2010 at 9:45 PM ^
In case you forget which team you play for?
September 1st, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
I cannot believe OSU let Nike totally replace their helmet with something nothing like the original. It is interesting to see that PSU is not going combat. Gotta love JoePa.

Michigan would have the sickest pro combats no doubt
September 1st, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
Nike has ruined college uniforms with their dumb uniforms
They are all eyesores, even the Virginia Tech ones
September 1st, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
I think the VT ones are the worst. BSU vs. VT on Labor day will cause seizures.
September 1st, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
I'm so glad we're with them
September 1st, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
I'm gonna be honest and say that I wish UofM didn't switch over to adidas. I would have loved to see what nike would have done with our uniforms.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:05 PM ^
...while the adidas uniforms are pretty unexciting our helmets still gots wings.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
Michigan hasn't ever not had wings on their helmets so that's irrelevant.
They would still have wings on the helmet but Nike would integrate a new look to one of our old uniforms.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:53 PM ^
I like the idea of bringing back retro-inspired jerseys at least like tOSU has been doing, but last years were godawful ugly in person.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:57 PM ^
We had plain blue helmets until 1938, when we adopted the winged look.
As for Nike "integrating a new look," I'll pass.

on this one. Stay tuned. For some reason mixing college football and protecting our way of life doesn't mix. Entertainment vs. War ..... ok yah.

On the gloves? Really, Nike? Really?
Why anyone ever lets the Nike design department anywhere near their uniforms at all, I'll never know. Furthermore... how do these things get approved? Is there some sort of contract stipulation where whatever Nike throws at your team, it HAS to be approved?
