August 9th First Practice?
I know that we've had threads about the fact that the first practice is the 10th of August, but RR said in an interview that it was the 9th. He says it at the 3:48 mark. Insignificant, but something to talk about.
The University of Michigan football team begins preparation for its 131st season of gridiron action on Monday, Aug. 9. Head coach Rich Rodriguez will meet with the media following the first practice at approximately 6 p.m. A few players will also be made available after Rodriguez.
Can't argue with official press releases. Thanks Greg.
...because soon after I predicted Aug 9, someone came back and said it was Aug 10 and the speculation was that the loss of one day was associated with the self-imposed practice restrictions.
Glad to see it's the 9th if only because it's one day sooner.
Thanks, Greg.
When you think about it, less than 4 weeks to get ready for our first game and the rest of the season isn't a whole lot of time.
I think that at the beginning of every year. It's amazing that teams can be clicking as well as they do in the first game.
I don't know how coaches at places like Michigan stand the stress. They've got to be made of titanium mentally and physically.
Or I guess I should say dilithium.
The first day is just stretching.
/ducks
if you can't laugh at yourself....i guess...
Let's hope it's Cullen. God knows we will need help in the secondary.
I'm hoping either a player or two in the secondary, or a QB. We need help in the secondary, and with already hearing/seeing a lot of improvement from Denard, another boost during practice before the season would be nice to see. If neither of those, then possibly a LB?
I'm more interested to see who this year's Craig Roh will be.
...to have discussion about which players will be this year's Craig Roh (the future All American, Craig Roh, that is) or Vincent Smith (whose 3 touchdowns will defeat Ohio State this year)...
Good times.
I can't wait for the countdown to kickoff specials. I love those. I started watching them 2 years ago. Should I not watch them? Is it bad luck?
