Big Ten Recruiting Class Rankings 5-16
Just a little bit of change since last week, but ESPN did tweak their ratings a bit. Action since last rankings:
NONE. I think for the first time since I've been doing this, there were no commits in the Big Ten this week. Scout did drop a couple guys down from 3-stars to unranked, which happens to push Wisconsin past Minnesota. Michigan will hopefully have a couple new commits by next Sunday.
Big Ten Recruiting Class Rankings | |||||

Still just two for the Illini.
I thought Ron Zook was renowned for his recruiting?
It's probably a bit harder to recruit when there's a 95% chance you're gonna get fired the following year.
I know, i was just being facetious, I'm not a big fan of his
His problem is that he tells recruits they are #1 #1, which unfortunately means they are actually #11 in the Big 10. Not a good sign.
How the hell did msu get Lawrence Thomas, that guy grew up a Michigan fan and Michigan is by far a better football program.

There's more on his site and this one as well...
and Gholstein, and Bullough, and Caper, and Baker. That's a huge advantage for OSU, no big ten competition for instate recruits.
Michigan has been competition for OSU for Ohio recruits but you're right, recently OSU has been getting most of the instate guys it has targeted.
The issue is an entire generation of Ohio kids (7-12 graders) are now favoring OSU due to the recent run by them.
His first couple classes were pretty good but recently recruits must have found out how bad of a coach he is.
that's why florida got his recruits and got rid of him, a good strategy if you ask me
Zook is a great recruiter; he's just a terrible head football coach. He had a reputation as a great closer when he was at Florida. He really needs to settle in somewhere as an assistant in charge of recruiting.
by us I may kill myself. Just sayin'. The ignominy has come in a lot of flavors the last few years; we have already been made to eat more sweater vest and Spartoon than I had in my fifty years been prepped to believe I would ever have to. . .
I get the feeling Kelly's team is really going to suck this ear, especially if anything happens to Crist. Should that happen, the luster of Kelly/Irish should wear off a bit, and they might suffer decommitments from at least a couple of their top guys.
My guess is that a lot of those kids are "soft" commits right now, wanting to see how this year plays out for ND. Kelly is a good coach, but quite a few good coaches have gone to ND and watched themselves get knocked down a few pegs. I'll believe that they bring in that type of class when national LOI day shows up.
Zooker vs. Ed Orgeron in a no holds barred recruiting cage match... tables and bamboo canes allowed. Who walks out?
Penn State at Zero commits is the most shocking aspect of that list.
I noticed that too. Of course, I'm sure they will methodically move forward, picking up monster linebackers slowly but surely. Is it bad to say I kinda like Penn State?
I guess this missed your deadline by a few hours, but Michael Bennett verbaled to OSU on Sunday.

I caught that, but it unfortunately happened a little too late. It'll be in the next update.
Man, OSU sure is pulling in the O linemen.
