Odds of Chuck Pagano Coming in as a Michigan DB Coach?

Submitted by NicholsArboretum on

With Chuck Pagano being fired today and the DB coach position opening up with Brian Smith going to Rice as the DC, what are the chances Pagano takes a flier and agrees to spend a couple years with his nephew (Carlo Kemp) while keeping himself busy football-wise? His resume shows multiple years as a DB coach. Obvioulsly this isn't a lock. (First post so pardon the formatting if it's off).

Pagano's coaching experience:

More likely he goes back to Baltimore as their DC, or a DB coach in the NFL if not. But as a Colts fan he's a great man and would be a great recruiter and DBs are the one thing he always did well. I'd take him.

The team needs stability and Pagano won't offer that. Plus, Bush Sr. already has put in time with the program and is known by the guys. He played DB at a high level and, from reports, has a good rapport with families.

I think he will get the chance to coach safeties and we'll see about the 10th spot. I agree with those who said Pagano could be a good analyst but I don't see him as a college postion coach at this point.

And, on another note, will every available NFL coach with some kind of connection to Harbaugh be tossed out as a possibility for a coaching position? lol

There is an absolutely zero chance of a fired NFL head coach going right into a college defensive back coach job. Come on, let’s be realistic here

We have enough over 50 coaches on the staff already IMO. We'd be better off with a younger coach.
