Wolverine247 and TheMichiganInsider (Sam Webb) merging

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

For those who don't know, Wolverine247 and TheMichiganInsider are two big Michigan paysites for recruiting, analysis, etc.

The merger comes as no surprise after the acquisition of Scout (which owned or had a licensing deal with TMI) by 247, and Sam Webb made it official today. So, there will now be a really big team at 247 with Sam Webb, Steve Lorenz, Isaiah Hole, Zach Shaw, Josh Henschke, Josh Newkirk, and DOTMAN.

One would assume there was a fair bit of dual membership between the sites, and that will now disappear. I'm curious what the financial deal looked like here.

I'm looking forward to this. Steve Lorenz is my favorite guy in recruiting. Straight forward and doesn't blow smoke up ya ass like some of the other guys.

Anyone know who posts the shit on Facebook for 247 Michigan page? So many of those links or articles are horrendous.. and talk about all these guys who were or would be stars this year and most haven't even played..

Does anyone know if the app is coming back early 2018 ( January, feb ect...), or if it is later? Because that is literally the only reason I used my iPhone. Also I really wanna have it down the stretch for signing day content. It was my only real recruiting source.

If there is a special I might join back. I was on Scout before. I quit when I felt the material started lacking. A big part of the reason was Sam Webb having a lot of personal issues going on. I totally understand him needing to take the time off, but I decided I needed to take the time off as well. I also don’t like the fact they would make you call to cancel. They didn’t have the best hours for me to call so one day I was on vacation I canceled it. I hope they start allowing people to cancel through the website.

This is good news. The quality of content goes up and this could be the end of Chris Balas. Losing Balas on the team coverage aspect would be a benefit to the team overall. Screw that guy.
