OT: Mark May predicts OSU in NC game

Submitted by WichitanWolverine on
I was watching the UNC spring game today (who looked offensively inept BTW) and Mark May (I think it was Mark May anyway) made his prediction for next year's national championship game. He puts Ohio State in it, along with Alabama. He then supplements this prediction by saying Alabama will be undefeated at this point and OSU will have one loss. Obviously OSU's one loss will occur on November 27th, and I find it hard to believe they can retain a #2 spot after losing that late in the season. Anyway, what are the MGoOpinions on this? Is Mark May correct about these two teams being in it? If I had to make a prediction, they might be the two teams I'd choose.

After the performance in the Rose Bowl, I could see OSU in the NC game. If they're playing 'Bama, I think I might root for them too. That is, unless we steal it from them in Columbus.

If you watched more of the UNC Spring Game, Mark May and Chris Spielman both made predictions for Michigan this year. May said 7-5. Spielman offered up 6-6. He said that the QB play would not be solid enough to compete and the defense has been bad for the past two years. I guess that we want people looking down on M now. It only matters when they start actually playing games.

Mark May also said the following before the game started: "UNC is a dark-horse to win the National Championship." "UNC has a defense that is very similar, athletically, to Alabama's." It was after the last comment that I changed the channel. Mark May is unbearable.

I wouldn't discount the athlethic ability of the UNC defense. They have two or three players on that side of the ball that could have gone in the NFL draft this year but decided to stay another season. Remember that Butch Davis built a dominant defense at Miami. He's doing the same thing at UNC. The offense is a different story.....

Didn't UNC play Pitt in that bowl game last year? Their Offense was unbearable to watch at times. It made me feel better about whats going on with us.
