Fun Sunday Football Facts

...regarding the upcoming Advocare Classic opener against Florida, for those who are bored on the board on this offseason Sunday.

As most of us know, Michigan is undefeated against Florida. Michigan has defeated Florida in the 2003 Outback Bowl 38-30, the 2008 Capital One Bowl 41-35, and the 2016 Citrus Bowl 41-7.

In the Advocare Classic game, an SEC contestant has never lost. The conference is 5-0 in the game, with Alabama accounting for 3 of the wins (vs. Michigan, Wisconsin, and USC) and LSU accounting for 2 of the wins (vs. Oregon and TCU). Big Ten contestants have lost both of their matchups in the game.

The last three winners of the Advocare Classic (Alabama, Alabama, Florida State) have gone on to the College Football Playoff.

It will be interesting to see which streaks are broken and which streaks continue on September 2nd, and if the winner continues the game's playoff streak. As I have commented in other prediction threads, I have us winning this game against Florida, losing only one regular season game (Wisconsin), winning the conference, and making the playoffs.

The CB list hasn't updated in the last 90 minutes, probably only insiders can see.

The last kid that Michigan is heavily involved with to get a crystal ball was Daniel Faalele yesterday. Someone at 11W CBed him to Georgia. Michigan and Georgia now each have 1 CB for him.

There has been a big CB run on DT P.J. Mustipher to Penn State but I haven't heard our name in connection with him for a little while now.

For some reason I think it is two d-lineman. Ya tried to bypass the 247 thing and look up his cbs, but has not updated like you said. Thats alright gives us time to speculate. I actually think it is two kids who are ready to commit and it isnt Hayes or the kid who should commit tuesday ( Had a brainfart and can't remember his name) he is out of gr catholic. Anyways he could just be throwing darts but we will see.

Mayfield is the OT from GRC. He's a Greg Frey special. He was unranked until we offered and now 247 has him as the #1 player in the state (6th to their composite). He had some really good camps plus the Frey/Drevno/Michigan stamp of approval and he shot up the boards. Should be a really good RT in a few years. Will definitely be Blue on Tuesday.

This game will come down to 2 things....The OL and will Speight finally perform against an above average D away from home. Those two things happen and I'll feel good in a victory.

There is no secret to what Harbaugh wants to do. He wants to pound you with the run game until you drop your safety  down and then play action you to death. If we can run the ball with consistency, speight will have an easier time of it. He will have more time and his receivers will be more open. Speight just has to get comfortable and take what they give him, don't turn the ball over, hand the ball to the backs and sit back and watch our D go to work. He was doing great in the osu game until he fumbles the ball at the two yard line. I thought the blocked punt game wore on me, but with good QB play we win the game going away and we don't have to listen to penn states fans b.s. osu's or spartys and why are they still talking. Speight better play well or he will be on the bench and this will be Peters team going forward.
