Implications of BTN Spring Game Coverage Decisions
The Big Ten Network released the details of their coverage of Big Ten spring football and it looks like the BTN has established its own Big Ten team tiers. Specifically:
Tier 1 Coverage:
...[On Saturday, April 24, the] Big Ten Network will carry Ohio State's men's lacrosse game at 11 AM ET and its spring football game live at 1 PM ET. The network will air the telecast of Penn State's spring game at 5 PM ET.Tier 2 Coverage:
Five Big Ten spring games will take place Saturday, April 17. The Michigan and Wisconsin games will be streamed live on www.bigtennetwork.com in the afternoon and will air on [BTN] at 8 PM ET and 11 PM ET, respectively....
[On Saturday, April 24, the] Illinois and Michigan State spring games will be streamed live on www.bigtennetwork.com and will air on delay at 11 PM ET on Saturday and at 5 PM ET on Sunday, April 25, respectively.Tier 3 Coverage: Meanwhile, coverage of the Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Northwestern will be limited to highlights and interviews only. More evidence of the negative effects of two brutal seasons.
annoying, I was really looking forward to seeing it on there live. Going to the coaching clinic the weekend before and then going down again that weekend would be way too much on my wallet.
Can you really put a price on UM Football? I'll answer...No you cannot.

Sell blood and semen, bro. Duh.
mgoblue streamed the game last year for free and it was pretty good quality. after all the bitching during the basketball season about having to pay fior the stream and the subsequent poor quality i think i will stick to mgoblue.com.
Just another reason to go to the game in person...
Right Jabberwock?

though I believe the weather forecast for April 17th is calling for it to
RAIN MOLTEN FUCKING LAVA!!!
So be sure to pack a bumbershoot.
What is the BTN showing at 1pm on April 17th that would draw a better rating than a Michigan Spring Game? Or is this an effort to get people to visit their web site?

Maybe because Rich Rodriquez indicated it will not be a game?

Anyone know if the spring games they aired last year were in HD? (I don't remember the BTN airing anyone else's game, obviously ours wasn't)

...but not in BTN's head. OSU/PSU live during Sat afternoon > U-M/WI/MSU/IL on tape delay.

I guess I will have to go to the game for sure if it is not live.

I don't think it has anything to do with two losing seasons. Rather it may deal with the fact the Penn State and Ohio State are expected to have over 100k people in attendance.
