further adventures in Jed York being unsuited for his position
Big Ten Network announces that the Michigan-Rutgers game will be one of its primetime games this year with a 7 PM kickoff on October 4th.
As a Jersey alum, I'm pretty pumped.
Premieres Tues Jan 14th at 10pm EST.
Still remember staying up late on a school night as a kid, watching the game w my grandpa, on my knees praying when Rumeal went to the line.
Title says it all. Big game for the kickers if you need something during commercial breaks of the 7pm games.
Interesting take on the increases in revenue in the B1G vs on-field success in football.
- The ADs in the B1G to include Smith and Brandon also are pointing towards recruiting geography, focus and schemes as a key difference.
- Size of staffs (Alabama significantly higher in non-coaching positions)
- SEC is 4th in funding behind B1G #1, PAC12, ACC
- Focus on funding non-revenue sports - B1G funds on average 4 more non-revenue sports than SEC and 6 more than Big12.
I heard on WTKA this morning that “Redemption: the Story of Dr. Billy Taylor” will be on BTN tonight at 9 (or 9:30). I’ve seen some background on the film posted on the board before, and this is your chance to catch it. It sounds like a great story about a Michigan great that fell into some hard times and was able to turn his life around.
I realize many of you really don't care, but I like to see Michigan win everything they compete in.
The BTN is holding a Best Helmet in the Big Ten tournament. Most of us would agree there's little doubt which school should win, but our rivals are doing all they can to prevent us from winning another accolade.
We are in the semi-finals against Iowa. Yesterday we were down at one point 65% to 35%. We have closed the gap. It's now 55% to 45%. I assume if we all vote a couple of times we can even the score.

BTW - the winner faces the winner of Indiana vs. Penn State in the Final.
PSU is leading 74% to 26%
Update: Michigan made the finals against Indiana. Here's the link to vote:
