OT--Millen deserves to lose yet another job

Submitted by ghostofhoke on
Throughout the game Millen described the actions and mistake of 18-22 yr old college kids as "pathetic", "embarrassing", "plain awful". I get that sometimes the quality of college football is not top notch but to use words like that to describe the effort and performance of amateur (allegedly) athletes in that manner is completely uncalled for and unprofessional in my opinion. It's hard enough to suffer through a game that he's calling but this kind of stuff should be embarrassing to BTN and should force them to take a hard look at whether he should be representing their brand. I don't know how to mount pressure on BTN but it should be done.

play, I posted that Matt Millen should not be throwing the stupid word around. It's like he's trying to make people he knows better than these kids when he's shown how much he knows.

Thought I was listening to "Mr. Know-It-All", who happened to be gracing me with his knowledge as a favor to me.  It sounds rude, even when I agree with his opinion.  Blowhard is the term that came to mind, and then I realize it is Millen, who set a standard for incompetence in running a football team that cannot be equaled.

Only thing missing was a mindless, unsolicited defense of Paterno.

He has the distinction of being the worst GM in the history of the NFL! How the Fords signed him to a second contract speaks volumes as to their legacy of ownership.

Why the BIG would want to expose him to Lion's fans is stupidity on their part.

I recall the last time he was doing one of our games and he had to add some senseless dribble praising PSU about something, which had nothing to do with our game.

I thought this thread was going to be about him describing Rudock as being brought in for his big arm, not because of his (in)ability to read a defense.

Though it is kinda expecting too much from the guy who drafts reciever after receiver after receiver in the hope that one will stick.

His line about Kugler knowing what to do with groceries was good though.

My favorite part of him today was after the Michigan onside kick.  He says that he just doesn't understand why they would try it in that situation and then goes on to explain why it would make sense to do it in that situation.

its football not feelingsball.

The players were problaly saying the same thing after they did it. Make a bad mistake, get criticized for said mistake. If someone is too soft to be able deal with that they have no place on a football field or any other performance position. The plays that Millen was critical about were plays that should not happen at the college level.

Wrong. He didn't say their effort was those things (as I think you mentioned). He questioned their results. Which is plenty valid

It pains me to even think he was ever good at anything football related. He was actually a decent linebacker. Everything after that? A big steaming bowl of elephant piss.

Let's take this slowly for you. When a US citizen is 18 they can enlist in the armed forces and fight and die in wars. These are not kids, they're men. Treat them as such. Ghost of Hoke and a lot of these people here obviously never played a violent sport and got in touch with their masculine side and it shows through every word they write.

Fuck the Lions man. Why do you give a shit? The NFL is a clown show. How could a self respecting Michigan fan care about a team like that? If you like the Lions there is no way you are also a true Michigan fan. And don't give me the "my parents got me into it" bullshit. They don't have an excuse either, dammit.
