META: Request for analysis of the officiating

Submitted by Dallas Walmart… on

Last year after the Michigan State game there was a significant front page post with analysis of the bad calls in the game.   Could some poor MGoBlog employee be tasked with creating a similar post for The Game?  I thought I remembered some mention that might become a regular feature, but haven't seen it since.  I've also heard reference to many bad calls that I didn't pick up on watching the game live, and would like to see an overall analysis of how bad things really were. I figure we're all hurting and angry anyway, may as well get it all out there on the table.

Special thanks to MGoBlog for giving us all a place to vent while trying to cope with whatever that was.

Really well said there.

Although I've always found it cathartic to try and block out a tough loss, I find comfort in knowing Harbaugh probably has similar feelings. And frankly, i'm glad he's acting on them.

Just to add to perspective, I was listening to sports radio down here in Nashville this morning. While non-UM or OSU homers can identify that we made some mistakes like the turnovers and running into the kicker penalty, they are all acknowledging that there were some really pro-OSU officiating calls being made. Frank Wycheck was saying that he does not believe the officials made the right call on the spot but the other radio guy thought it was fine. Both said that there were several other questionable non-calls. These are coming from a lot of people who watch a lot of football and have no love for Michigan or the Big Ten.

the block in the back on Samuel'a scramble run.  If you can stand it,re-watch that play and as Samuel's gets to the 15ish, he cuts back into the field - and watch how the Michigan defender is constantly pushed in the back.  Could he have may that play ?  doesn't matter - it is blatantly a block in the back.   Time heals all wounds ... but this may take longer tahn most.
