Those who have stayed have been moral champions.

Another positive for them is that In bizzaro world they became bowl eligible with this loss.

Moral victory my ass.

If Michigan has a solid string of wins against them, which seems likely, they can claim "losing with dignity since 2016." Has a nice ring to it.

That moral victory was against the #2 team in the country!

 

Would be something for the non-bowl eligible teams commitee to consider when judging the Stay at home schools championship.

Ah, but the headline isn't necessarily wrong.  It's ambiguous: "Defeated With Dignity" could refer to either team.  I would agree that we defeated them with dignity.

 

I almost expected them to take solace in the fact we weren't able to mathematically eliminate them from a bowl game.

Are we now allowed to do half the stuff? Or do we have to beat BOTH MSU & OSU before we can do any stuff?

I wouldn't say they prevented a blowout, in all honesty. We went on a 30-3 run, then ran out the clock, they tried running up the score late to make the loss less embarrassing, but failed, because running up the score in a guaranteed losing effort IS embarrassing. They're even complaining about the refs, when the refs gave them every advantage possible.

I'm going to say what they'd say if they were in our position:

So the fuck what?

We won. You lost. Embrace it, accept it, and move on.

If this isn't proof Sparty is back to form, then I don't know what is.

It was 30-10 in the 4th. Without a doubt harbaugh called the dogs off, hell, they didn't even punt until the 4th quarter. Game was never in jeopardy, I think harbaugh must have a soft spot for msu or something.

Plus when you say, "at least we didn't get blown out," what you're saying is, "damn, we suck," and, "the other team is way better than us."

It just annoys me that they were able to scrounge up the satisfaction of a single digit loss margin.

Wow! This is sad. How pathetic.

I think Sparty is morally undefeated this year.

If Harbaugh hadn't gone Lloyd Carr, we might have won by 30.

They do know we were up 3 tds in the 4th quarter right? Michigan was far and away the better team for most of that game. They literally went from beating us 7/8 years and being in the playoffs just last year to being 2-6 and happy by the fact we didn't blow them out because we let them back into a game that was never in doubt. My how far they have fallen. They better get used to the fact that their run is over and they'll never be better than an 8/9 win team even on their good years. They'll never be able to compete with us as long as Harbaugh is here. I told them last year if you're going to beat us, it better be in 2015 because it's over after that. Sure they might have some moral victories here and there but Paul Bunyan will reside in Ann Arbor for years to come. You can take that to the bank.

LOL @ MSU claming a game in which they trailed by 2-3 scores through out its entirety, never led or never tied after their first possession, was a moral victory. If they didn't embarrass themselves during the game, they've certainly embarrassed themselves after the game. No wonder they're tied with Rutgers for last place in the league.
