OT: The Dude gets an Oscar
About finally winning, (Jeff Bridges) said, "What's the Dude say? Strike some gutters, man."

It's good knowin' he's out there. The Dude. Takin' 'er easy for all us sinners.
now i understand. i was wondering wtf people were talking about with this "The Dude" stuff
It was a great movie and a great performance, if you haven't seen it check it out.
Well deserved Oscar for Crazy Heart.
Also, I'm watching Kimmel right now, and they just had Cristoph Waltz reenact the greatest internet video of all time.
This Oscaression will stand, man!
The Dude finally got a new carpet... and it's red. Congrats to him. Well-deserved.
...it's going to tie the room together.
I wonder how much the mystique of having played "The Dude" affected the way voters saw Bridges and his role in Crazy Heart. It's almost like he got an Oscar for both roles last night.
I saw the title and was racking my brain to think what movie Jim Duderstadt could have possibly appeared in.
If Bridges had took off the tux jacket and thrown on The Dude's wool sweater jacket and sunglasses during the acceptance speech, but you can't have everything. There are rules man.
"Crazy Heart" was a pretty good movie in an overall pretty bland year for film. Aside from "The Hurt Locker", "An Education", and "Crazy Heart", the other films I've seen this season have been mostly meh.
As for Jeff Bridges, an Oscar richly deserved. He was great in that movie.
"The Dude abides"....I wonder if he celebrated his win last night with some Caucasians?
Congratulations, Brian.
I can't believe Hurt Locker won best picture. I guess the movie was alright, but the situations they found themselves in were so absurd and unrealistic that it really ruined the movie for me.
Army bomb expert claims 'Hurt Locker' based on him. And he hired Geoffrey Fieger.

OT: I cant believe how much i suck on a computer. And, yes this is my first link.
I love Avatar...but it is not best picture quality. Frankly, none of the movies were that caliber. Hell, i thought the 'Best' film was "UP", which says a lot.
That said, Hurt Locker is a fine movie. And Bigelow had the PC vote to be sure. She deserved it, and her speech made it worth while.
Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart was a well deserved Oscar. Although Mickey rourke had a similar performance last year in The Wrestler Rourke had actually lived much of that carachter where Bridges was doing his own singing and doing more actual acting.
I was suprised that Sandra Bullock won for her performance in Blind Side but that might have been my own bias for the mutilation of a great book. I have not seen Precious and not sure I will as I hate to pay good $ to get that depressed but the clips alone were telling. The actress from An Education IMO deserved the Oscar but the academy has a tough time awarding such young actresses perhaps becuase there are so few inspiring parts for women in movies and they figure young actresses have more time if they are true to the craft.
Although I thought Crazy Heart was the best picture it was hard not to root for Hurt Locker being an independent film and of course the director being Camerons Ex. Great Movie and deserving although not better then Crazy Heart IMO.
Martin and Baldwin were very good as co-hosts. Not great by any means but very good. Great was Dudley Moore doing the entire oscar night in carachter as a drunken Arthur. Oscar night was reflective of the movie year-good but not great.
