MGoTailgate w/ Marlin Today -- Beer is flowing
We have beer and hummus and dogs let's do this!
Event Details:
1300 S. Main Street to raise money for Marlin Jackson’s Fight for Life Foundation. Suggested donation of $10.Tents up by 10, Brian will be there about noon.
-----------------------------------
Fight for Life:
When I describe this organization I start by asking if you’ve seen the fourth season of The Wire—the one where you get a heartbreakingly realistic picture of what happens to poor, inner city kids. Well my wife the child therapist who works with exactly those kinds of kids for a living looked at Marlin’s programs when we first started doing stuff with him, and was blown away by how it was designed for exactly what they need. If it wasn’t started by a two-time All-American for Michigan it would still be one of the best bang-for-buck charities I’ve ever seen. Marlin lived what these kids go through, and he used his Michigan education to do something about it.
-----------------------------------
Sponsors:
Tailgater Concierge gave us the space and will have satellite TVs set up to watch the noon games, and will be grilling hot dogs and serving. Wolverine State Brewinggenerously donated three half-barrels of their best beer. And Eat Well Embrace Life is providing a ton of hummus and chips and pop. We’ll also have a raffle, and you can ask Ace about Harambe.

Same here... Been in 'soda country' since 1985. I've even said that while visited family back in Michigan. They've officially decided I'm now one of those southern folk...
Egads! My family has disowned me!!

That one at least makes sense (soda guy here). But for the life of me I do NOT get the southerners calling it "coke" as they refer to all soft drinks.
Guy from someplace where the lost the civil war: "Hey can I can you a Coke?"
Guy who doesnt think the SEC is king: "Sure"
Civil War loser guy: "What kind do you want?"
First time I went through that exchange I think I said "Diet" and they were - "well, what kind of Diet?" Took me a while to figure out they referrred to ALL soft drinks as Coke.
That makes no sense whatsoever.

One of my co-workers from Oklahoma said they eat biscuits and gravy with every meal. Or was it grits and gravy? Man would that get old after about 2 weeks. Cant imagine it for years. Why do they need to do this I yell to the sky!

Seth, the original post from Brian showed 1300 S. Main. 1300 S. State appears to be Al Glick Field House- nice place for a tailgate but probably over your and Tailgater Concierge's budget.

If you are tailgating with Seth, Brian , Marlin and dozens of your internet friends I would find a yard (empty lot) on Potter or Berkley, etc.--It will be crowded due to Golf course closings so come early (11?) Good luck walking with your MgoBrewMom and remember us stadium ushers bend over backward to help older moms once they are in the stadium --think shuttles, wheelchairs, at a minimum a friendly comment.
