POSBANG: Notre Dame goes down - AGAIN!

Submitted by crg on

To hell with Notre Dame!

Upside: Another step forward in the path for UM reclaiming the overall win percentage.  Also good for Big Ten in general.  ND almost certainly out of playoff picture.

Downside:  MSU looks like they might be a challenge.  We'll see how they do against Wisconsin next week.

Also, Brian Kelly is still an ass.

Bang on!

EDIT:  It looks like if UM finishes with 1 more win than ND this season (same # of games assumed), we reclaim the record.

has shown a stone simple offense to me, whch they seem to block very well.  LJ Scott/Gerald Holmes between the tackles, RJ Shelton jet sweeps, O-Connor throw when they must.

Notorious Dame doesn't seem to have the horses in their front 7 to stomp down a run between the tackles even when they mostly know its coming.  Kizer looks to be really good at picking apart defenses when he has time to throw or isn't being inexplicably platooned with Zaire (week ago).

Us v Sparty (love how Dez and Herb call them that always on GameDay):  We better be able to address ND's weakness and chop down runs between the tackles and get them 3rd and long.  If they continue to get 3&short they will be very hard to stop.  i think Corntonio is saving his usual 2x per season fake punt for us.

You guys saying we can't beat Sparty are ridiculous. We'll be fully healthy by then (knock on wood), ND is clearly overrated as hell, and Colorado is a good team. This game was a blessing. Hopefully, we won't sleep on anyone as a result. This team got their shit together and dominated a top 30ish team for the last three quarters. We responded like a national championship team. UCF also just took Maryland to overtime, they're a much different team from last year. We are in an ideal position right now. Go Blue. EDIT- Cal is playing it close with Texas, more evidence of NDs inflated ranking.

With everything else going on tonight, I forgot who they played.  So it went like this...

ND goes down again.

Ok.  Cool.

They played Sparty.

Oh.  Dammit.

How does MSU score on us?  Zero explosive receivers, a mediocre QB, and a line that we completely dominated last year and is ever worse this year.

I agree, but how do we score on them???

We will not be able to run for shit against their DL, and Speight doesn't yet give me confidence playing in a loud, hostile atmosphere.

I still think Michigan will have a slight edge, but this will be a low-scoring affair most likely.
