Tom Crean: Jim Harbaugh is having the time of his life at Michigan

Submitted by Maizen on

"He's having a great time. I mean he is absolutely having a great time. And both of you are probably around it enough to imagine the last couple years in San Francisco, he wasn't having a lot of fun, and for a lot of different reasons. But he enjoys the people he's working with. He loves the staff. I've gotten to know some of them and they're incredibly good guys. They really know football. I think he really likes his team. He loves Michigan. He's very very happy being back in a place he grew up in and spent a lot of time in."

There's also a few other tidbits in here that are worth a listen, including a great story about a 1 on 1 basketball game between Harbaugh and Crean. "He would struggle in a tightly officiated game."

I'm still salty about his attack on Jeff Meyer after that loss to Indy, but appreciate these comments. That's a family thing over there, I can understand it.

..from a really competitive guy who just happens to be the starting quarterback on the football team.  I was playing in a pick up basketball game against him back in either 1985 or 1986.  I remember he seemed to be pretty rough (thank goodness he wasn't playing enthusiasm unknown to mankind).  So I can sort of see what Crean means in that comment.

and I'm not sure if my MGopoints can withstand the rage that is likely to ensue... but what of tapping Crean as Beilein's successor...?

Too much Harbaugh?
