Olathe (KS) 4* safety Isaiah Simmons to officially visit Michigan

Submitted by Indonacious on

Mentioned by Steve Lorenz on Twitter (Free). He was recently visited in-home by Harbaugh, which must have gone well!

Also, nice note on twitter... Brice Marich: NJ CB Jordan Fuller on Michigan recruiting New Jersey: "The effort they're putting in to get Jersey guys means something."

Well Venables likes him so that's a good sign.  Looks like they are doing an in house tonight.

Clemson offered on 15th and UM on 16th - must have turned some heads at Semper Fi.

Sort of hilarious seeing Kansas lead for any top 300 prospect in crystal ballz - thats like Rutgers thinking they are going to pull a top 500 kid out of their own state.  So cute.

Great that they got an official since there was a time when it didn't sound like he could fit Michigan in.  Not great on the timing with a midweek visit and then a weekend at Clemson right after but getting him on campus is a great first step.  He's not a hybrid LB the way Hudson would be, just would be a long athletic LB.

Lorenz seems pretty confident in getting Hudson, so I don't think Simmons has any bearing on that.

Also of note is that Harbaugh and Partridge have an in-home planned with Fuller on Wednesday, same day Simmons takes his official.

People are reading way too much into this stuff. Not every offer/recruit by the staff has to do with another player. The staff just likes Simmons as a player. His recruitment may/probably has nothing to do with any other player.

It makes sense too. If the staff really likes Fuller and Hill and Hudson and Simmons, why not go after all 4? That way if one commits somewhere else, you're already pursuing all of them. And then if all of them want to commit, that's a good problem to have.

Even if that staff likes a guy like Hudson/Fuller more than Simmons, it makes no sense not to recruit Simmons now. If we end up missing out on one of them, we have a better shot at Simmons if we start recruiting him now so he can take an OV than if we start if we miss out on Hudson on Wednesday. And then if Simmons wants to commit, the staff can take him or slowplay it a bit to let a guy like Fuller or Hudson commit first if they need the space for them.

I believe his offer sheet was surprisingly underwhelming (at least recently), so hopefully he appreciates the opportunity to join an elite, rising team and hops on board.

I think Hudson goes Blue. Penn State is struggling to keep a class as everyone is decommitting. Did you see the way they used Hill as a prop during the hockey game, and skating on the edge of an NCAA violation?

The guy already decommitted. How thirsty is that??????
