CFP possible scenarios for Michigan to get in
So what needs to take place in order for us to get in? Curious to hear others thoughts (and I need something to kill the time on this Thursday morning). Here is what I think will guarantee Michigan a spot:
-Michigan wins out, msu loses to osu, we beat an undefeated osu team and then an undefeated Iowa team in the B1G championship
-Big 12 bludgeon each other and every team ends up with one loss. Feasable since they all still have to play each other.
- Notre Dame loses to Stanford
-Utah loses to UCLA, Arizona, or Colorado
-UCLA or USC beats Stanford in pac 12 title
I think this scenario would put Michigan in with Clemson, SEC champ, and probably 1 loss Big 12 champ.
Edit: Sorry fellow MGoUsers I did not realize this had been brought up in a diary

Not gonna happen. Not even worth contemplating.

We win out as well as Utah. But we go and they don't because we're Michigan, and because we beat undefeated OSU/Iowa.
BOOM!

So this weekend, a few unlikely, but reasonable upsets are...
Florida at South Carolina (UF has no QB, and S. Car is due for a close win)
Oregon at Stanford (Oregon's O is still good and NW beat Stanford)
Arkansas at LSU (The hangover effect for LSU)
The season's getting shorter so some of these games need to start falling in our direction.
On a side note, I really hope the noon and 3:30 games go our way because the Saturday night lineup looks pretty stacked.

Win Big Ten title. We'll be in. I guarantee it, or I will give you 5 lbs of coffee.

That would be the definition of bitter coffee.

The "SEC bias" has gotten a hold of you all!
I have disagree with most people here. If Michigan wins out, they will go to the CFP. A lot of skepticism is borne out of living in the past, and way too many people here are thinking "ranking" comes from "W-L Record".
And it's hard to see past that way of thinking (and ranking) because it's so ingrained over the history of football.
But, the CFP Committee is showing that that's simply not the case.
Alabama was placed at #4 and everyone lost their minds. But anyone could see Alabama is a giant. The same for OSU, they are under-performing, but when they fire on all cylinders, they are a BEAST of a team. The same people cried about Florida placed at #10, but then they went and laid an egg against Vandy winning by a score of 9-6. The SEC sucks this year. Fact. But Bama is always Bama.
And everyone here is still so shell-shocked and things that a 2-loss BIG team coached by Jim Harbaugh will be left out. They won't.
The CF Committee was the best thing that ever happened to College Football, and I'm a freaking traditionalist!
There are SIX BIG10 teams in their Top-25.
BIG-10 - 6
BIG12 - 4
SEC - 4
ACC - 3
PAC-12 - 3
Group'o'Five - 4
Whoever wins the BIG-10 will go the the CFP. It's currently the strongest conference, and it's not even close.
