2010-2011 Outdoor Game

Submitted by weasel3216 on
I know that we are playing at Camp Randall on February 6th, but does anyone know if there have been any developments or planning for an outdoor game at the Big House for the 2010-2011 season? I would think it would be amazing to have over 108,000 people at a hockey game, plus it would take a record away from MSU and that is always a good thing. I think it would also be smart to work something out with the NHL to have their Winter Classic at the Big House and just have both games on New Years day or one game New Years Eve and then the other New Years day. However, i think the NHL will not have the Winter Classic with Detroit for a few more years, so this might be a plan in progress for the future.

Never even considering MSU is the best way to deal with them. I don't fret about anything, and I barely consider them. I don't think of them as a rival, and I certainly don't bother giving them the satisfaction of letting anything they do upset me. The only satisfaction I take from pwning MSU in any way shape or form is knowing at all times that we are better than them.

I really like this concept. As an african american, I don't get into hockey much, but I like the concept of an outdoor game. I think that they should try and have a basketball game outdoors..would have to be somewhere down south (miami, atl, la or phoenix), but it would be nice to get everyone involved in this outdoor stuff.

This has been in discussion and practice. The NBA had a preseason game outdoors between the Suns and Nuggets. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2008-02-19-suns-nuggets-o… I agree i think it would be pretty cool to have an outdoor NBA game, the only problem is that it would have to be early in the season to avoid bad weather. Even if the game was early in the season there is always the chance for rain and i doubt the NBA would be willing to risk injury to players on a wet surface.

I listen to your post but disagree with it. If you aren't black... Mind your own business. Just because you took a sociology class it doesn't mean that you know, or have any knowledge, of what that word means and entails. I use it because I grew up being, being called, and saying a variation of the word "nigg_". It's been used on my as a term of endearment, bust also a in a term of hate. I know how to use that word and i WILL use it when I want... Mind your own business college boy. A nigga in America has the right to use that word how the man chooses.

Exactly, i am sure a call up to Minnesota would find a willing commit to play in the game. Does anyone know if Wisconsin is making their outdoor game an annual event or just ever once in a while, because they could always be another potential candidate to come down.

Why is the game not on ESPN? It would be great exposure for hockey if people could actually watch it. I beleieve the Wisconsin - Ohio State game At Lambeau was on ESPN.
