Sam Webb - Epic Segments WTKA

Submitted by Black Socks on

M Fans,

If you didn't hear Sam Webb on WTKA this morning you owe it to yourself.  He is very confident and will make you smile.  Start with segment 2 and go on.  Heck, I enjoyed them all.

(All apologies to Sam Cassell.)

A "Coming to America" reference was incredible. It's great that he just called his shots.

***main concern is the short slot slant pass of the middle on Jabrill. That's the one weakness I see with this defense.***

I just overheard two coworkers talking and they are scared. And one pulled out the injury card and I called him out on it. This is the best week ever.

Why is it only fucking Tuesday?!?!?!? I can't take it! After listening to Sam this morning, I wish it was Friday. Ugh, this will be a long ass week.

Frankly, I cringed through most of it.  He doth protest too much.  Michigan is about knowing with quiet confidence that you're great, not screaming it from the rooftops like an Ohio-trash jackass or a bitter Sparty troll. It's about comparing yourself only to yourself, not to those beneath or beside you.

I heard Marcus Ray explain it well once: "when you come to Michigan, you learn that the only important school is Michigan."  It's not about hating anyone else or taking anything away from anyone else, because they don't matter.

I am just as confident as Sam that Michigan will win this game, decisively.  Once it happens, none of the talk or stupid narratives mean much anyway.

This segment hyped me up. I love the over the top language. I'm used to Michigan being arrogant. The fight song is "The Victors." He's calling us the victors, it's all good.

It's just insecure bluster.  I always thought "Michigan arrogance" was much more of a quiet, knowing arrogance.  Like Harbaugh said, the game is big enough.

I don't dislike the guy (though I tired of his turd-shining through the Hoke era), but it's just not my style and sounds jarring coming from a Michigan guy.  Sorry.  But if you like it, knock yourself out.
