#77

Would you be in favor of the return of #77?  If so, which of our offensive lineman deserves to wear it?

I'm over the whole "number thing". Seems like we are one of the few who make this into a big deal. I hope Harbaugh hands the non legacy numbers out, namely the #1 and #2

Jon Jansen, Jake Long & Taylor Lewan don't make this worthy of being a retired/legends jersey deal or whatever they are calling it. They were great players in their own right and went on to be 1st round draft picks, Jake was even the 1st overall pick. Just think that some more guys have to make it special. Plus aren't we done with this whole numbers thing?

Let players pick their own numbers. When they become great, that number is meaningful. I hate that Kovacs had to change numbers mid career. 32 has special significance because of him and I wish he would have kept it the whole time.

The cool thing about 77 is that Taylor picked it and took it on as a personal challenge to live up to the people who wore it before. You can have your opinion about whether or not he did but I like that he took the challenge head on instead of being handed the challenge.

Don't retire jerseys... Maybe only 98 and one or two others...

But I don't see the problem with a kid wanting to switch numbers mid career especially if it's just becoming available... Why are ppl so against players wishing to add their legacy to a number already prominent?

For example what's wrong with a player adding their legacy to a number? Let's say Cole knows who's worn the 77 lately. He has two options, stick with his number or chose that one if he'd like wearing that number. If he'd enjoy ripping the 77 after those great linemen why should we deny him simply because we don't like the legends concept? I think it's very different, Cole would be CHOOSING to add HIS legacy to that number as so many others have done. Run it just how you run the #1 and #2.

I see no problems with players wanting to create a new legacy(Peppers) or adding to an old one(Funchess) it's not the legends concept they don't even have to earn it even necessarily... They are just adding themselves into the michigan greats story one way or the other. I happen to love seeing 77 on a LT or 1 on our best WR or 2 on a DB.... I guess I don't see why everyone's so angered by this
