This Day in Michigan History
Thanks to Timehop and my incessant tweeting during Michigan sporting events I was reminded of what happened on March 3rd, 2013.
Michigan 58 - Michigan State 57
It was a great day indeed, thanks to two Burke steals (which he called ahead of time) at the end of the game.
Michigan forward Mitch McGary said Appling used a spin move earlier in the game, which Michigan won 58-57, and Burke told him exactly how he was going to swipe the ball."He told me whenever (Appling) spins, he puts it in his right hand and it's an easy steal," McGary said. "Tim and I were just hoping he didn't hang on the rim."
This also popped up on my timehop. It was during spring break for UM. I was visiting my friend at Dartmouth and we were watching the game. I remember the disbelief and excitement the moment Burke stole that ball.
Really wish he would be more consistant in the NBA. Then again he plays in the West which is full of top notch PGs that probably outclass him currently. He needs to go to the East after his rookie deal expires.
OP wins all of the upvotes.
The faces just make that picture
the #1 song on this day in 2013 was the Harlem Shake.
Wow! That was two years ago? Seems like it was more recent.
lol the age of the Internet really makes some ridiculous things obscenely popular for no reason.
I remember these. God they were dumb.
The Appling face makes me laugh every time.
It was truly amazing and a privilege to watch Burke play. The moment was never too big for him, and he almost single-handedly won Michigan a national title.
Beilein will have more great point guards come through Michigan, but we will never have another Trey Burke. One day, his jersey number will be hanging from the rafters at Crisler.

Yeah, I believe the photo above is actually from the second steal. After the first one he got free for a fastbreak dunk.

Burke saved my sanity with that play.

One of my favorite MBB moments.
I thought the roof was going come off after he made the dunk but it was relatively quiet from the steal to the basket.
Think about this... Trey would be a Senior this year. He would have been a seasoned, veteran leader and an absolute LEGEND in AA.
A season or two hardly seems to feel anything near satisfying. But it is what it is...
We won that day without making a single three. Wild game.
It's amaizing how many teams took a pass on him - especially Ohio. But they had the really scrappy guy...
