Except for obvious first rounders, I'm all for guys staying in college, whether it be M, MSU or wherever. Good for the game, and gets guys that much closer to graduating.

I thought Calhoun was going to be the one to leave, with Trae Waynes opting to return.

I'm sure that's what MSU wanted, too, if they had to pick. They have the talent on the O-Line to replace Calhoun...they have absolutely nobody to replace Waynes, tho.

I'm a little surprised, as I'm not sure how much higher up his stock will go.  At this point NFL guys have watched his development and must know his ceiling.  Another year in college won't change the fact he's a good DE but not dominant, that most of his bigger plays were due to forced fumbles/INTs that are far more random than reproducable, and recent MSU linemen have underwhelmed in the NFL.  I guess the thinking is he might have a breakout last year and get a bounce up the board, but I wonder if MSU's passing defense will take an even bigger step back next year when they lose Waynes and Drummond, and that could affect his sack totals even more.  But again, as a Michigan fan I'm not really worried about his return having a dramatic effect on the 2015 season.

Secondary will be even weaker next year after already being a weak point this year. Will have a new DC. I believe they lose Marcus Rush? who was a very good DE opposite him. He may very well have  worse year and there really is not much differencein the second or third round. Teams will more than likely not cut you because you're still a high draft pick and still a roudn where they expect to get a starter.
