hopefully, tomorrow we kick 3 guys off our team. come on, if we all pull together, we can win this battle!
EDIT: title of thread changed to avoid flagrant misinformation, and unfortunately lessen humor. as of now, there is no official comment as to why the players are no longer with the team (i.e. could be by choice)

And they were the first consecutive winning seasons since the last years of Saban.

Two more than Richie Rich has.
By the way, isn't next year your National Championship year? I seem to remember that sentiment being rather prevalent last year.

Break your near-two decade drought on Big 10 titles and then we'll talk.

You have been hanging around on the Freep and Mlive boards too much. Here the fans and posters aren't nearly as stupid. Since RichRod and UM are so horrible, why don't you name me 1 win this year that MSU can hang their hats on. 1 win that signals this year isn't a total disaster up to this point. I'll wait.

Is this guy banhammer-worthy? Yeah, he's been a member for a while, but all he does is troll.

Coach, I'm gonna quit. You never told me i'd have to burn my couch! I mean damn, it's all the furnature I got!

OBSESSSIONNNNNN
don't worry we arent your rivals though
October 29th, 2009 at 10:56 PM ^
you're just 3rd on the list. Ahead of Minny, though. As of next year we resume dominance. Guess you'll be back to a basketball school then.

Just like last year it was next year. hahahahha let's see how Tate is feeling. Poor kid is getting hurt every game. But hey he did lead a TD winning drive against INDIANAA!!!!!!!!!!! May the Forcier be with yoU!!!!!

Shouldn't you be worried about your own overrated injured QBs brah? In his 3rd year, Dantonio has taken a significant step backwards - maybe you should discuss that with your fellow Spartans. I know I know, you just love his 20-14 record though!
October 29th, 2009 at 11:29 PM ^
I wouldn't call this year a step backwards. Last year we were a 7-5 team that got 2 bounces their way making us 9-3. It was smoke and mirrors. I wouldn't call Cousins over rated. To be over rated you have to have hype around you first. And I would take Dantonio over Richrod. Is his 8-12 record supposed to be impressive?
October 30th, 2009 at 12:48 AM ^
You lost to CMU at home and are 4-4....how is that not a step backwards from 9-3?
Are you trying to tell me that all the Spartans who predicted a possible B10 championship this year were not saying Cousins or Nichol was head and shoulders above any of our QBs?
And I am glad you would take Dantonio over RichRod. Most Spartans would. That is why you will be mediocre for quite some time - you put Dantonio up on a pedestal while he is slightly better than John L Smith (he has a whopping 2 more wins than JLS at this point in their respective MSU careers) and getting worse as he gets more of his recruits in place. Head back over to Spartanville because you just look stupid when you say this year isn't a step backwards for D'ton.

this year in that most of us expected to lose with the transition and young players. This year we hoped we could pull it out, and just about did. Did you even go the game? Or were you sitting on your mom's couch. Either way, enjoy your State of Glory for the next 10 months (if you guys can get bowl eligible) because the long slide down starts next year. You know it does.
BTW, let's take a look at that for just a minute:
You beat lowly Montana State 44-3 for 1-0
You lost to Central Michigan 29-27 for 1-1
You lost to ND 33-30 for 1-2
You lost to Wiscy 38-30 for 1-3
You beat Michigan in OT for 2-3
You beat Illinois 24-14 for 3-3
You beat NW at home 25-14 for 4-3.
You lost to Iowa at home 15-13 for 4-4.
How's the rest of the schedule look:
You get a tremendous break by not playing OSU. But you're still left with:
At Minnesota, which you should win, but could very well lose. Minnesota is at home and they're better than Central.
Home vs. Western. Well, you already lost to Central, so anything's possible. But, I'll give that you. So there's your 5th win.
At Purdue. Could go either way. Purdue will probably be favored by about 3 points.
Home vs. Penn State. My money has Penn State as the best team in the big 10. You could beat them. They will be favored by a touchdown.
I'm betting you split them for a fine 6-6 finish. Probably a win less than Michigan. Of course, you could easily finish at 5-7, especially if Minny shows up this weekend (doubtful without their qb, but you never know). If State goes 6-6 or 5-7 with their schedule in and out of conference this year, that may go down as the single worst meltdown in college football this year. Weren't you all predicting a championship without playing OSU and with that genius D'ton?
