Caris LeVert has surgery to repair stress fracture in foot, will miss 8-10 weeks

Submitted by Raoul on

Reported by Baumgardner, among others. This is obviously a setback with regard to LeVert's summer workout plans, but he should be recovered in time for the trip to Italy:

“Caris underwent surgery today for a stress fracture of his foot at the University of Michigan hospital," Beilein said in a statement. "He is doing well and we expect him to make a full recovery in about 8 to 10 weeks. We are confident he will participate in our late summer training and play in our August trip to Europe.”

According to a Freep article, it's not known whether he'll be able participate in the Kevin Durant camp for wings (to which he had received an invite), which is usually held in July.

What's that luck called that isn't bad luck? I'm a Michigan and Cleveland fan so I've never actually seen it but fans of other teams seem to get whatever that other luck is all the time and it sure seems wonderful.

This happened during the UK game and I'm not one to make excuses but if not for this happening, he could have jumped that extra inches to block that shot and we would have won the game. I'm not taking anything away from UK, they're a great team and you know me...I don't make excuses but that foot....

This obviously sucks, but given UM's injury issues with key players in the past, I'll take it.  Hopefully he'll bounce back without too much of a delay.

I think the title should be corrected. Recovery will be 8-10 weeks. The only thing that he's missing right now is spring conditioning. It makes it sound like he's going to miss 8 to 10 weeks of the basketball season.
