Dennis Dodd reporting NCAA has put investigation on "very fast timeline"
In a world in which it took the NCAA 6 years to investigate Kansas basketball, when they had FBI-provided wiretaps as evidence, it's not clear to me what "very fast" means, but here's the tweet:

Is this associated with the NCAA’s “Double Secret” process?

Per our response to the B1G yesterday they understand the NCAA was planning to finish it this fall

Well, UM will sue them as well if they come back something that is unfair. And UM will get 90 days to respond.

90 days to respond? It's not like these organizations are following their own rules.

Now it sounds like a coordinated attempt to get rid of the "troublemaker" who's trying to steal all the profits the NCAA and schools make off of sports. These kids already get a free education. Why should we pay them?

Can we put leaving the BigTen on a fast track?

I would hope there was an out clause for something egregious. Then they can go to court for that too.

FU@K THE B10

If true, this scares me more than anything the B1G did today. Last thing we need is the NCAA rushing to judgment.

I can understand this. They have to get the investigation done before any more facts come to light.

This could actually be a really good thing unless ( help me out mgolawyers) they have found some clause to deny Michigan there 90 days to respond. Only reason to fast track would be to clear Michigan to stop this negative press from effecting the CFP. Is there anyway they can make Michigan post season ineligible without allowing the 90 days?

No way the NCAA is doing this to help Michigan.
This is a coordinated effort to get rid of Harbaugh.
November 10th, 2023 at 4:39 PM ^
Didn't the NCAA clear Harbaugh of any knowledge of CS' actions? I thought I saw that on MGoBoard right before they cleared Day of any "known" connection to the PI firm.
It is hard to believe, but I think the NCAA is cleaning up Petitti's mess. Dude is incompetent and they have to fix his blunders before he sinks all of the NCAA.
You know we know how much Bama paid D'Shawn Hand and Najee Harris and how much Eric Gray got paid by Tennessee.

Time is not on their side, though. The NCAA hourglass is running out of sand.

This is a conspiracy.

Even fast-tracking this, the NCAA investigation is not about this year. They just can't move that quickly. My assumption is that a "very fast timeline" means they'll have finished before next football season starts. I'd be completely shocked if they're capable of moving any quicker than that, and actually getting it done by July of 2024 would be moving quite fast for the NCAA. Please note that I'm just speculating, I don't claim to have any special knowledge.

Hopefully this means, “uhh well the big ten already made their judgement…so I guess we just agree with them and call it a day?? Meeting adjourned.”
