"Broad Support" within Michigan to move JH contract extension

There is “broad support” within leadership at the University of Michigan to move forward with a contract extension for Jim Harbaugh “as soon as possible,” a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Michigan Insider on Tuesday afternoon.
The source indicated that Michigan will consider guardrails within the new contract to protect itself in context of the nascent investigation into allegations of improper sign stealing. But given the possibility of a slow-moving investigative process with the NCAA, leadership at Michigan feels they “can’t wait to find out” the conclusion before offering Harbaugh an extension.

"The source indicated that Michigan will consider guardrails within the new contract to protect itself"
One of those guardrails should be "Don't hire obsessive-compulsives with grandiose views of themselves who write 600-page manifestos."

What's WRONG with 600-page manifestos? (I'm halfway through mine right now.)

Good guess but it’s actually a deep analysis of ALL the MGoBlog comments on Signgate.

What if Harbaugh wants to compare notes on his own 600 page manifesto?

That rules me out, but I'm going to keep typing...

Thanks. I did both, in the interests of making the source clearly identifiable by URL, and having the hyperlink for convenience.
In retrospect, I agree that I should have added “forward ASAP” to the title of the thread. Was trying to keep the title short. This is what you get when you have a lawyer write headlines. 🤷♂️

We have no idea what the NCAA will find or do, but I for one am happy that the University is doing this for Harbaugh. A royal fuck you to the NCAA and it's selective rule violations punishment.

So Jim's body of work is held hostage by a poorly remembered and insignificant Brown Jug cheeseburger, a conditioning staffer also using off season coaching tips and a Zoom call all during a once in a hundred year Pandemic.
How intrusive should he be on the private lives of entry level staffers in their spare time? Where does institutional control cross Brave New World? What else does Jim not know about the programs hundred or so staffers private activities? Especially those pesky 4 compliance staffers?
I am sure dangling this sword of Damocles hanging over him will make him thrilled to sign. Harbaugh's remember, right?
Back up the Brinks truck and don't change the language and you got your boy not because of the money but the support and his nostalgic attachment to his childhood in AA with his children and parents. Oh, and to continue his friendship with 3rd base.

That's how you do business. Put the guardrails up, the accelerator pedal down.
