In calendar 2023 PSU just won their 5th game (5-10-1). May it be the last of this season.

Let's get started on time, make simple plays, go to the net hard, and skate, skate, skate. And stay out of the damn box.

PSU is 5-10-1 since the start of 2023.  They’re only in the tournament because they gamed the pairwise by playing absolutely nobody in the nonconference and winning them all.  (The pairwise’s dirty little secret is that the RPI is used to break ties — pretty much the same RPI that we universally derided as garbage in college basketball).

He’s not outcoaching Naurato, either.  What you’re seeing is the result of puck luck.  It’s like, well, hiring Brady Hoke because his team recovered a lot of fumbles.

End of the second, 1-0 PSU.

It feels like the scoring chances are about Michigan 20, PSU 5.  Single-elimination hockey is just stupid, and I’ll stand by that even if Michigan comes back and wins.

This is every frustrating hockey loss in history.  Play way better, hit a ton of pipes, opponent gets a power play on an excuse me trip, rebound goes right to them for a goal.

Faceoffs are a fairly overrated stat.  All things considered, you’d rather win them, but possession in hockey doesn’t tend to last very long anyway.

I’m not sure why Michigan’s getting blasted today in the circle, but it really hasn’t affected play much.  Michigan has vastly outplayed PSU in every meaningful category except goals. :(
