Coaching Staff Changes if Weiss is Fired
If Weiss is fired after the investigation is complete, should Michigan hire a quarterbacks coach or should Harbaugh assume the responsibilities?
I would opt for the latter, move Sherrone Moore to the Offensive Coordinator role exclusively, shift Grant Newsome from TEs to OL coach, move Jay Harbaugh back to TEs while retaining special teams, and then bring back Chris Partridge as the Safeties coach. Partridge is a great recruiter so would be a huge asset after having so much on field success, and could bring immediate talent at corner from the transplant portal. A true freshman corner who started 9-10 games at Ole Miss just entered the portal and his primary reason for leaving was coaching uncertainty. His name is Davison Igbinosun and he was the number one recruit from New Jersey in 2022, so he definitely is a Partridge guy and would be a strong bet to follow him to Michigan if he joined the coaching staff again. This would be the last key piece to having a complete team next season.
Other thoughts on the staff make up if changes are necessary?

I would say just bring in a QB coach who can really recruit as best case. I think promoting from within like an analyst like someone said would be fine though and most likely what they would do. I would only move people around a lot if we got someone pretty big on the staff.
Otherwise keep as much continuity as possible and get someone who will really recruit well.

Not suggesting I would want Weiss to leave, but wouldn't you just move Moore as the full OC? and maybe Newsome to TE/OL?
and then you'd have another coaching slot open to use as you will...
Griese would be awesome tho...but he seems like on track for an NFL OC job if he's the one that coached up Purdy...

My guess is Hart will be promoted to CO/OC. A QB coach will be hired from within, but hopefully whoever it is...they are a kick ass recruiter.

Isn't this where we grab a recently fired head coach who was a good OC in his time... knowing that its a 1 or 2 year gig for him...... There might even be a guy that JH is pretty familiar with...

Please relax. This is a sports blog focused on Michigan sports. I didn’t give any opinions on Weiss, whether he’s guilty or innocent, or whether I think he’s a good coach or not. I’m posing the hypothetical of what will happen if he’s fired since he is currently suspended.
I think Michigan will be better off if he comes back and the investigation is a nothing burger. But what’s the plan if he’s fired? I think that’s a fair topic for fans of Michigan football to discuss on a message board that Matt Weiss probably has never looked at.
I read posts where people criticize and slander the coaches and players all the time with plenty of unwarranted vitriol. There are dozens of people who want Weiss fired after every game. Where’s your outrage for these people?

If Weiss goes, my vote is bring in Devin Gardner as Pass Game coordinator/QB coach. I feel he would be an excellent recruiter and knows his x's and o's.
Yes, I am aware he may prefer staying in the announcer's box.
Also, I do not think they will move Jaybaugh back to TE's even if it makes sense on paper. If they moved him to offense I would imagine it would be to move Bellamy back to safety.

Can I just reiterate that I would love seeing Grant newsome develop as a coach....seems like a great guy and real Michigan man persevering after that injury

No do not move Moore anywhere. If he can coach the OL even one more year I’d leave this alone. The OL production has more to do with offensive success than Coordinator's IMHO. Moore coaching the OL changed the run game as much as Hart coaching up Rbs. Probably more so. Get a QB coach that has potential
