Will the Detroit Lions be Rowing the Boat in 2021?

Yes, it's the silly season for NFL coaching rumors, but would anyone honestly believe this doesn't have the Ford family written all over it?

‘A handful of college coaches are drawing interest for NFL head coaching jobs, and here is an interesting one: <insert random name of someone that generates a buzzy article for end of year’>.

Kinda click baitish Vlad. I have given up on thinking the Lions will do anything correctly, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once, so I'm hoping they will finally do the right thing. They hired Spielman as an advisor, so that is one step in the right direction.

CS has no track record as an executive and you consider that a smart hire? Just because he was a good player and appears on TV? Sound like anyone else lions fans can think of?

It’s just the sort of rube logic that makes the Lions the Lions and the White House the White House. Hire proven professions, not ones that play professionals on TV.

The Lions need a GM and coach like Beane and McDermott in Buffalo. Never thought they would recover from 4 Super Bowl losses, the Music City Miracle, missing the playoffs for almost two decades, JP Losman, Doug Marrone ditching them, Rex Ryan, being a small market in freezing Buffalo, etc, yet Beane and McDermott came in, made the playoffs in year 1 of a rebuild, created a great winning culture, and now they are serious Super Bowl contenders in year 4.

Regardless of the rumor, the headline is great! Boy Howdy, did that grab my attention.

[Edit: rereading my response, I realize it might seem sarcastic. Not at all. I genuinely like the title.]

I'm more concerned with the fact that I keep hearing rumblings about Stafford leaving and we went decades without a decent quarterback. Are we just hoping a replacement falls in our lap?
