That would be a ridiculous hire, they better not even think about it.
Saleh seems like the guy to me too, make it happen you idiot Ford's.
December 30th, 2020 at 12:43 PM ^
Agreed, Saleh is the guy and has been the guy through this entire process.
I will say though, I don't think Fleck would make a bad NFL coach.

PJ will need to modify the slogan from "Row the Boat" to "Crank the Model T" ...

‘A handful of college coaches are drawing interest for NFL head coaching jobs, and here is an interesting one: <insert random name of someone that generates a buzzy article for end of year’>.

He wins games using this one simple trick

I guess the belicik tree is bare after he missed the playoffs... Will someone hire Urban already.

Kinda click baitish Vlad. I have given up on thinking the Lions will do anything correctly, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once, so I'm hoping they will finally do the right thing. They hired Spielman as an advisor, so that is one step in the right direction.

CS has no track record as an executive and you consider that a smart hire? Just because he was a good player and appears on TV? Sound like anyone else lions fans can think of?
It’s just the sort of rube logic that makes the Lions the Lions and the White House the White House. Hire proven professions, not ones that play professionals on TV.

Oh god no.

The Lions need a GM and coach like Beane and McDermott in Buffalo. Never thought they would recover from 4 Super Bowl losses, the Music City Miracle, missing the playoffs for almost two decades, JP Losman, Doug Marrone ditching them, Rex Ryan, being a small market in freezing Buffalo, etc, yet Beane and McDermott came in, made the playoffs in year 1 of a rebuild, created a great winning culture, and now they are serious Super Bowl contenders in year 4.

He's all frosting and no cake. His act cannot be maintained for the long run.
Hmm, kind of sounds like a current coach at UM.
December 30th, 2020 at 1:26 PM ^
I’m not so sure his schtick will play in the NFL.
December 30th, 2020 at 1:32 PM ^
Bieniemy, Daboll, or bust.
December 30th, 2020 at 1:55 PM ^
Will Fleck take the job? Only if he wants it to be his last.
December 30th, 2020 at 1:55 PM ^
I hope Urban Liar takes an NFL job. I think he is still very involved with OSU and taking that away will hurt at least a little.
December 30th, 2020 at 1:56 PM ^
Regardless of the rumor, the headline is great! Boy Howdy, did that grab my attention.
[Edit: rereading my response, I realize it might seem sarcastic. Not at all. I genuinely like the title.]

Nope, they're going to be going into every day with an Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind™

Glib, enthusiastic, encouraging player's coach who is not known as an Xs and Os guy?

Rowing Down the field
Another TD we will yield
And when the blue & silver wave
Jump off the row boat and sink into a watery grave
Rah! Rah! Rah!

His personality just doesn't seem to fit the nfl.

I'm more concerned with the fact that I keep hearing rumblings about Stafford leaving and we went decades without a decent quarterback. Are we just hoping a replacement falls in our lap?
