I was there. I’ve been to about 200 NHL games (as best as I can figure) and that was definitely in my top five. Probably top three.

To me this may have been the most important game that the Wings played in my lifetime. They conquered the Avs and cleared the final hurdle to Cup championships.
One of the greatest rivalries in all of sports. It doesn’t have the longevity of some other ones, but from ‘96-‘02 it was pure hate. 5 Cups between both squads and HOFers littered both rosters.
