24 hours later and I just want to express a few things... Mostly football.

  • I’m very excited for Coach B and the B-Ball team to make a run.
  • Proud of “The Team” and what they accomplished this year.
  • Seniors did well. (Thanks Wino & Karan)
  • Proud of Harbaugh for beating some bigger name programs.
  • Wish habaugh could get over the OSU bump.
  • Wish we didn’t always feel sorry for the team.
  • Ohio State fans are awful & one day Umich will get revenge and it will be sooo sweet.

In in the future/ off season

• I Hope the DB’s and Patterson decide to comeback.

• I Hope UMich will reach out to Jedd Fisch.

Go Blue!

Still bummed, but I predicted 10-2 in August, with losses to Ohio State and -- Penn State, maybe? I forget.

In any event, the season went just about how I expected it to go. The HUGE exception being, of course, the 62-spot put up yesterday. I really didn't see that coming, and neither did anyone else, Buckeye fans included.

Go Blue, as always, but I really, REALLY want to win The Game sooner than later. It might be nice  a few times prior to my 60s, man.

Let’s stop blaming the players ... We have the talent our coaches don’t put enough emphasis on this game and it shows every time we come out flat against them ... Hoke had them more prepared for Ohio than Harbaugh does

Naturally, a good coach theoretically gets their team up for every game.

But this isn't every game.  It's The Game.

Talk to an O$U fan about Cooper.  Their biggest problem with him was that he treated this game like every other game.  It was reflected in his teams' performances in The Game, even when they had the better team.

Harbaugh's prep doesn't LOOK like he treats this game like it's a special one.  Seems like we've found our Cooper.  Puts up a lot of wins, fields good talent, and recruits well, but does not fair well in The Game.

In retrospect 10-2 is 2 games better than I expected but I thought all losses would be closer.  And I didn't count on the conference being weak like it was.

you sound the same way as a indiana fan feels toward michigan. things don't change or get better just because you hope it does or you are due. for perspective, indiana last won at michigan in 1967, they have won exactly "one " other game since then, in 1987.

now, how can that happen over that many years and with all the different coaches that have been involved? how about  this , michigan has better athletes year in and year out and a better and more solid overall program. plus on top of that when you beat another program that often the players don't really believe that they can lose. sound familiar?

Share your sentiments, not the roaches who troll here.  Especially appreciate Karan Higdon, Chase Winovich, and all the seniors.  Usually try to get over footballl losses in 24 hours, but going to allow myself 48 hours for this one.

We got embarrassed, still sucks today. I hate having a bad taste about the season every year due to how we finish. Thank you seniors! In my mind only Bush should or is ready to leave early. I’m sure Gary will, his combine will be great, just wish he had a final season with major production! Offense needs a change; not an overhaul; you could say the same about the defense too, we lost the game in the trenches yesterday.

Me and my two body guards with crow bars in their jackets as protection because I'm going to talk shit to the loudest and meanest looking piles of shit. Yep, coming at you old guy buckeye fans. I appreciate the seniors, the fire the provided, and the fact I went into "The Game" with the highest of hopes. Hell of a season. Not the ending we were hoping for, but ultimately I'm excited for this recruiting class, the bowl game, and for next year. Now put the exclamation point on the 2018 season with a bowl win.

The UFR and FFFF from last week had warning signs for this game.   Our DT aside from Soloman are JAG, we had to develop a pass rush package to put pressure on opponents.  Indiana killed us with cruising routes.  The problems with the d line are recruiting problems,  missing on DTs last year and three years ago.  Missing on DEs Johnson and Vilain hurt us in this game too.  Harbaugh has us having in the right direction with will rounded recruiting classes like this years.

There were signs this was going to go bad. Haskins coming in last year and playing pretty awesome against us, and Indiana giving us fits last week. You'd have hoped Brown would have some answer for that, but apparently a good passing spread is all you need to beat this defense.

I used to want to see Brown play some of those Big 12 offenses to show that what real defense looks like. I was wrong. Brown's scheme would get absolutely shredded by the best of the Big 12

I am even more pissed after 24 hours. There is no perspective. There is no optimism. There is only anger at another missed opportunity to move Michigan to a higher level of competition which is always Harbaugh's stated desire. Instead they came into another big game unprepared, emotional flat, and without solutions to simple challenges. How do you come into this game with a plan to play field position and kick field goals against a high scoring offense like OSU? How do you come into a game like this with no plan to stop crossing routes given they are a well-known weakness of your defense and OSU's bread and butter play. How do you come into this game with no plan to use your talented receivers against one of the weakest secondaries in the league?

I could go on and on but this was a clear lack of preparation and focus. The coaches expected OSU to lie down and surrender like Penn State. Bad plan by dumb people.

24 hours later, my football fandom is dead inside. I'll still love Michigan as always, but that was an all-time gut punch that was a major shock. If not yesterday, then when are we ever going to beat them? When Urban retires and they bring in the next top 5 coach sleeze? Possibly the most deflating loss I've seen Michigan take since 2006 and that includes App State and 2016 OSU. We were supposed to be better and the best team Michigan has had since ??? got absolutely run out of the building.

I, like most wolverine fans, am mad a day later. Not at the players, maybe a little at coaches. Although they have forgotten more about football than I have ever learned in my 64 years. But here's my take away.

In amateur sports, momentum is an essential in the winning formula in tight games. Usually in a blowout one team isn't that much better than the other. Its more like some kids stop believing for enough time that the other teams catches an edge. No way, in my head, will I ever believe Michigan isn't a talented and well coached team.  Playing on the road in the snake pit requires that the visiting team succeeds enough to take the home crowd out of the game. That also works to grab momentum. There were several times were I hoped our offense would make that happen. Three times balls were dropped that may well have caused a major shift in the game. Was it McKein stripped in the end zone in the first half. Then Gentry dropped a key third down pass over the middle. A punt is blocked and 7 points. OSU believes even more and our guys a bit less. Then Gentry drops another in the next series. [not trying to pick on him, I like the guy]  Then an errant pass and pick. Then game starts turning ugly.

Not saying our guys didn't play with effort. They just didn't play with synergy. Synergy is the increase in effort that allows two cattle pulling in a yoke to pull way more than 2 times what one might pull.

Make those catches and maybe we get momentum. And just maybe the crowd shuts up long enough for our team to believe enough knock some bucks on their buts.

Just sayin.

My bpone is still high. I just don't understand how Maryland can score 50 points on OSU two games ago and our offense struggled against their defense. This past Saturday Maryland only scored 3 points on PSU?  The worse part about this season is that we did so well after the ND game and expectations were high about beating OSU, winning the B1G and reaching the playoffs. We may not be in this same position for several years! Next year we will be on the road at PSU and WI. OSU will probably improve in all phases of their game and our defense may not be a good with all the position losses.

I’m so bummed right now but I just look at it this way - are we better off today then we were 4 years ago? Yes! We certainly are. Always - Go Blue.

A little perspective.  The loss was horrible, it sucked ass, we got jail-sexed, we were destroyed, etc. add any other term you would like, and yes JH is 0-4 vs. urban liar.

However, we are now ranked 8th, and with a bowl game win and depending on how others do in their game, as high as 5th.  If you would have asked me this at the start of the year I would say great!  Obviously, would have liked to win all the games and hope we do better next year, but this year was not a total cluster fuck.

I was at the game, so it was harder to see what the problems were live than it would have been on TV, I'm tempted to rewatch it to try to figure out wtf happened, but I don't know if I can bring myself to do that.

Seemed like the D line got zero push, and that OSU wasn't doing an unusual amount of holding. Most of the secondary was getting beat all day, and the linebackers were... I dunno, present?

It feels like a mix between Don Brown not adapting to what they were doing for some reason, and the D just playing really poorly. I don't buy that this is some inherent athletic advantage, we compete against OSU every year, we just still lose, this year we get blown out as favorites, there's just not a lot of logical sense to how that game went.
