Great Freep Article on Jeremy Gallon (not in print edition)
I almost missed this nice feature that seems to have appeared only online. I'm a Freep subscriber and don't remember seeing it in the print edition.
(Can someone remind me again why I subscribe to the Freep?)

I'm not sure I even know anybody who actually gets a newspaper delivered anymore. I'm an old fart, and even I finally had to come to terms with the fact that they were more a waste of paper and ink than anything else. The newspapers just piled up, unopened and unread.

Same. I'm not "over it," and won't ever be. I'll never buy the Free Press, or even give them a pageview. It's the only power I have as a consumer, and you're damn right I'm using it.

That was a pretty good read.
I hate the freep for what they did. I clicked through and read without noticing it was a freep article because I have a bit of a buzz and didn't process all of the information provided by the op. Still a good read.

He was so gracious when we met him, posing for pictures and soooo polite. What a fantastic guy. Can't wait for the "Where are they now" in 10 years on Jeremy!

Gallon makes a good point about having both a father and a mother around as role models to help him avoid the pitfalls of growing up in a community beset with problems of poverty, crime, and drugs, but I especially enjoyed this comment by his father:
“That’s the way we brought them up, the way we brought them all up,” Chris Gallon said. “It’s not hard at all if you’re a good parent.”

The strong reaction to the Freep here has me reconsidering my subscription!

I'm sure it's very nice.
I wish it were written on a different paper's website.

Is everybody okay with the Detroit News? Or are they considered in the same bag because of the joint operations with the Freep?
