Cold War

It's oversimplifying things to say "everyone's struggling" He's paid to be one of the two big boppers in this lineup and really hasn't performed up to par all season.

Peralta and VMart have been pretty decent and we all agree Miggy is hurt (and still hitting better than Prince.) Fielder has been a zero, and along with the attitude it all adds up to a little bit of well deserved scorn.

I've got concerns going forward. He has seven years to go and this could wind up as one of the worst contracts in baseball. Anybody got Magic's number handy? I got a great deal for him.

The problem with his performance is his attitude. Here's his quote: "If they pitch a mistake, I'll hit it. If they don't, I won't." Another gem is "if anyone [fans] has a suggestion, I'm all ears. I'm just trying to hit the ball hard."

So you're basically paying a guy 23 million dollars to wait for a mistake. Come on man, I call BS on that. It's the post season. Every pitcher is good. He could at least attempt to grind out an at bat.

His attitude carries over into plate discipline. He's been the last out of an inning 8 times this series. And has swung at the first pitch in 6 of the last 7 at bats. The guy looks like he has checked out at this point. His 3 pitch strikeout in game 4 was the most worthless at bat I've witnessed in a long time, especially when he could have redeemed himself. It also doesn't help Cabrera knowing the guy behind him isn't likely to get the job done.
