Mich v UConn TV showings panic averted EDIT: for some not all
Hey folks, I just checked the future schedule for the game on the DTV guide, I get the NYC ABC affiliate and it finally shows our game listed at that time slot.
I also checked the San Diego affiliate for ABC and it was showing KSU v TX earlier but now indicates a TBD, I wouldn't doubt if Mich. game is shown, luckily, I get the NYC channel, yay for me!

Where are you seeing the Gameplan schedule? ESPN's website says it will be available via gameplan http://espn.go.com/college-football/schedule.
If it is on Gameplan, I imagine most sports bars will have it; if it's not, it's looking like ESPN3 or bust.

As of now, the UM/UCONN is not one of the games which will be played on ESPN Gameplan. The coverage map they released shows both Gameplan and ESPN3. It makes it appear as if you can get it on either one. That's not the case, according to the Directv Gameplan guide.
The UM/UCONN game is not the 8:00 game. Troy at Miss. St. is the 8:00 game. That seems to indicate that the game must be on ESPN3. Unfortunately, if you have Directv then you can't get ESPN3.

Argh. This is annoying. Seems wonky since they have like 10 Gameplan games at noon and only a single one at 8pm. You'd think it'd be on there for those areas where ABC won't have it.

I rarely post anymore, but this thread falls right in to my wheelhouse and I figured I'd share what I just learned from DirectTV...
I live in Los Angeles and subscribe to DirecTV (including every imaginable sports package). My program guide shows the following for Saturday at 8:00pm Eastern / 5:00pm Pacific:
Ch. 7 (ABC) - "College Football"
Ch. 396 (ABC East) - "Michigan @ Connecticut"
Ch. 397 (ABC West) - "College Football"
I just spoke with a supervisor (after the customer service rep I spoke with kept telling me the game was on the 24th!), and he was definitive in telling me that the Michigan @ Connecticut game WILL BE TELEVISED on ABC 7 (DirecTV) in Los Angeles. He also said it would NOT be a part of the Gameplan package. I pressed him hard and asked the question about 10 different ways. I even told him that I doubted the information he was providing since the guide specifically lists Michigan on channel 396 (East Coast) and lists a generic "College Football" on channel 397 (West Coast). I asked, "Why wouldn't it just show up on both?" He did not waver, saying: "Despite what the guide may show right now, I am looking at the scheduled programming for your region [i.e. Los Angeles, CA] and you can be 100% certain that you will receive this game."
Ever the pessimist, I still have my doubts... but that was encouraging to hear.

I don't have 396. Why the hell wouldn't they put the game on Gameplan? This makes absolutely no sense at all. Don't they WANT to make money?
I think my sister-in-law has AT&T U-verse. Maybe I can stream Watch ESPN at her house. Or have we already figured out that that won't work either?

I do not get 396. I think you only get 396 if you are grandfathered in from a long time ago. You had to be one of the people that didn't have local channels in your area so they gave you the national feeds.

as far as I can tell, the f'ing Watch ABC app doesn't work in the Austin market either. It is only available in NYC, Philadelphia, LA, Chicago, Raleigh-Durham and San Francisco. And then only if you have certain TV providers. What a joke.

For those of us outside of the ABC area running the Michigan game with the prospect of the GERG show.... it might be time to grab the computer and bust out the HDMI cable. ESPN3 does stream in HD and according to the schedule, it will simulcast there.

Where are you seeing the ESPN3 schedule? I thought ESPN3 didn't show the ABC games, but since I haven't gotten it in the past year since I changed cable providers I honestly don't know much about it.

You can't buy WatchESPN. You can either get it or you can't based on some random combination of your internet provider and your TV provider. I know DirecTV and Time Warner cable are NOT partners. I think AT&T U Verse is a partner.

Yeah, unless things change from what I expect when the listings come out tomorrow, this looks like the first game I won't be able to watch on TV since 1996.
Bars may be able to buy the east coast ABC feed. That is pretty much my last hope. Either that or WatchESPN at the sister-in-laws. The whole thing is a joke.

Time Warner Cable is a partner for WatchESPN

In a fit on insanity, Time Warner TV is, but Time Warner Internet is NOT. Go figure that brilliance out.
I think Time Warner is trying to stick it to people who aren't bundling their TV & Internet together.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but FYI:

Appears the game is available on ESPN GamePlan in the western part of the country, which suggests it will not be available on ABC stations in those areas. Sorry to those of you in the mountain and pacific time zones.

If you overlay the two, you can figure out if you can get the game somewhere, at least...

Does anyone know of a good place to catch the game in the Dayton, Ohio area? I have Dish network, and they do not have the game posted.

I have Comcast with XFinity and Saturday night on ABC it is showing "College Football - HD, Live, Teams to be announced." That....doesn't help.
I do see on ESPN's website that shows the weekly college football schedule that both Michigan-UConn and Kansas St-Texas are ABC/ESPN3, so I'm guessing if the Michigan game isn't on ABC in your area, you can get it on ESPN3. Of course we all would prefer it on our nice TVs instead of a laptop.

7 listed as Texas now.
UM on Gameplan now and ESPN 3. Will send picture to the big screen from the ipad.
Get to work on ESPN3 guys.
