John Idzik woke up, sloshed down some bourbon and said, "I suppose it was inevitable".
SBNation is on it for the moment - HERE
Supposedly, he had the physical today and all signs are pointing to an impending reunion with the New York Jets. With Santonio Holmes on the "physically unable to perform" list, this is probably not a bad move for the the Jets either.
Good for him, was thinking Stevie Breaston would get picked up too but it looks like the Lions passed on him, for now
The Lions pass on anything that looks like a good move. But we have no problem picking up the YouTube kick sensation
Good for Braylon. As per usual, I suspect he'll be his own biggest obstacle. I'd like to see him have another good season or two; fingers crossed.
On the plus side, he was always paradoxically better at catching poorly thrown passes directly into coverage than he was at catching wide open passes right into his hands. So Sanchez should be playing right into his strengths! #obviousjoke #ironichashtag
really played with a good NFL QB. Look at this amazing list of his QBs: Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Mark Sanchez. Russel Wilson is the best he has ever played with.
Holmes will take the #1 spot when he comes back, Kerley is a slot receiver, and Hill can't catch. No receiver on this team can run a route. Braylon can take the other spot on the outside with a strong camp.
Last year it looked like he was primed to return to form in Seattle. He was generating all sorts of buzz and appeared to be a go to receiver for Wilson. Then something changed extremely quickly and he completely fell off the table. Here's to hoping he can catch on again and turn some of that buzz and potential into what it can be.
At this point he's lucky he has so much potential, because that's why his career is lasting so long. Other Michigan WR (Avant, Breaston) have maintained careers based off of at least relatively consistent production. Braylon, if his career was only based on that in recent years, would already be out of the league. I wish him the best and hope he can stay focused long enough to prove a lot of people wrong.
